AAH yes I see I thought maybe that's what you meant but I wasn't sure haha. but yeah I'm absolutely on the same page. I'm like no matter where he falls on the scale of inexperienced to very experienced, that man is some flavor of aroace.
depending on the day I'm either like that man has never touched or been touched by another person sexually and that's how he likes it and he's not about to change that OR I'm like yeah he probably likes to fuck as a way to let off steam occasionally but it's always a one and done and never anything emotionally meaningful and he barely gets his pants down to his thighs ykwim
I'm not like strongly attached to a particular headcanon but I do think canon would imply he's on the more inexperienced or fewer experiences side of the scale than horny dominant guy who fucks a lot.
I think my deepest belief is that he's some flavor of demiaroace. I think he does crave companionship of some kind (in canon currently satisfied by grogu being his son) especially with how he does tend to collect little friend groups, tho he probably wouldn't call them friends (Mando voice I'm an independent contractor. teva voice yes and we're getting lunch before you leave)
it's why my favorite reader fics are the ones that are heavy on the. like.. silent pining and he would rather not say anything about the blossoming romantic feelings and risk losing you than say something and scare you out of his life forever. like he's the kind of guy that would never say a word about having Feelings for you if he thought it would be a deal breaker. so the ones where you're simultaneously pspspsing each other or the ones where he just. with no explanation is doing mando courting things.. ugh chefs kiss.
lord knows I have read tons of smut with him and I like all the variety but my favorite ones are the ones where it's friendship/companionship > some level of what would be romantic (courting/life partner/in it for the long haul) feelings and familiarity and maybe a little bit more physical familiarity > maybe finally reaching a level where it turns sexual (and the one thing I gotta agree with is if he's a demisexual kind of guy, the second the sexual attraction hits, it hits like a train and THEN he's sort of simmering with horny all the time for u (that is the one thing I 100% find likely. i just don't think he's a naturally horny guy if that makes sense lmao)
all that being said though I genuinely do love that, with the exception of omera (and dubiously xian but we don't like xian and neither does din), there's never been a Love InterestTM. like the show is about this (definitely aroace) guy being a single dad and not dating or anything or even particularly wanting anything like that and he's involved in his community and he likes his job and he's got his little house and a couple blurrgs and a pond and he's happy and thats it!! there's no.. narrative like condemnation of it. it just is what it is
