So maybe it’s the confirmation of getting Disney+ show but I’ve been thinking about Percy Jackson again and had an apophony. What if Dionisius refuses to call Percy by his real name not only to refrain from getting attached but to prevent him from achieving godhood like he did? Dionisius became a god because people started to worship him even as a demigod, they prayed to him, burnt him offerings for him and reveled with him. What if the same could happen to Percy? He is ridiculously powerful and I’m sure Mr. D could sense this right off the bat. Names have power remember? By mocking Percy’s name he was denying him some of this power.
