fall guy steddie AU cause its all i can think about

steve is ryan gosling, confident, charming, amazing at what he does. when he breaks his back there's nothing he can do but run away.

he doesn't like leaving the love of his life, in fact he hates himself for it every day of his life.

so when he gets the call that eddie aka emily blunt wants him on his set? he's on a plane faster than he can think.

director eddie being so into his film but also his feels and dropping dramatic dialogue after dialogue and making steve walk through hell for him, but steve is steve.

golden retriever happy boy steve melting eddies heart once again as they catch the bad guy in the end.

them kissing in front of explosions, steve promising to be at eddies side until the end of time and eddie writing film after film with steve being able to be the stunt double of the main role.

which means I am back with a mini edition of

SO. Everyone’s assuming that Director!Eddie’s son is named Samuel because of his previous connections with Samuel Stuhlinger. And that would make sense, assuming that each version of Edward’s memories somehow bleed into one another.

BUT. What if little Samuel was instead named after Samantha Maxis? I mean, she was Eddie’s oldest and closest friend. They were together through literal hell and back. It would be only fitting that he and his wife would name their child after someone who’s been so important throughout his life.

It would also add an extra layer to the regret and guilt that Samantha feels over not being able to save Samuel.

Just something that came to mind the other night.

going back and watching the cutscenes again I noticed that it’s not just Eddie who’s looking like he got a spray tan- though it’s most noticeable on him- it’s all of them

the only one it doesn’t show on is Carver, but you can clearly see the orange tint to the rest of the crew

Weaver’s the next most noticeable, but if you look at Eddie, you can see a clear line of demarcation from his face to his neck where the color is different

I thought it was an issue with the color grading or saturation at first but now that I’m looking at it closer, I think it’s supposed to be smeared dirt?? but if that’s the case why isn’t his white shirt also dirt stained?

Okay first of all: can you help me figure this out?

I don't understand this, and it kinda freaks me out (I'd understand if Sam does this to mess with him and it gives me more reason to hate her)

Second of all, in light of the above image, here's a higher res picture of his family photo.

My best guess in terms of the drawing is that, in the same way we got the drawings of Mister Peeks in BOCW with the little notes on them (“Mister Peeks lives in my hat, he keeps me safe in the dark place”, those ones), that this is a drawing directly from Eddie’s son Samuel in the Dark Aether, and that he’s showing us he remembers what happened to him and his mother, and who is responsible for it. And while we now know that Weaver had no clue who he killed, this drawing being found by one of the crew would act as another bread crumb to them finding out the truth of what happened. (and don’t worry my blog is a Samantha hater friendly zone lol)

I also have to wonder if this is pointing to the picnic we saw the Richtofen family on in the Liberty Falls cinematic being the last time the family spent together before Mary and Samuel’s deaths. It seems as though it’s a central memory for both Eddie and his son- Eddie seeing it repeated in his nightmare, and Samuel drawing it in this picture. We see the mother and son with sad expressions, and with flames surrounding them, which mirrors the nightmare Eddie had where the fire builds around them as he walks away.

AND THE FAMILY PHOTO😭😭😭 I’ve now come up with the headcanon that Eddie hates getting his picture taken, look how anxious he looks lol
