If you murder your disabled child, YOU are to blame.
No, you should NOT get a pass because they were disabled.
No, it should NOT be deemed a “mercy killing.”
No, you should NOT decide if your child should live or die.
You should be punished the same way as any murderer.
Dear Media Outlets,
No, it is NOT the kid’s fault because they are disabled.
It is the equivalent of saying a woman was raped because she was pretty.
She had no control over if she looked pretty
just as a disabled person can’t control whether or not they’re disabled.
So why is it their fault that they were murdered and not the faults of the murderers?
Why do murderers get a featherlight sentence if their victim was disabled?
Give the true victims of the killings of disabled people the treatment they deserve. Lock up the killers. Don’t shame the victim.
Deal out the justice and sentences that every Kelli Stapleton and Dorothy and Jolanta Spordalakis deserve.
