Zack felt his heart drop as soon as Milo sat down and nothing happened. No Murphy’s Law, No Melissa, No interruptions. Nothing. That was rare, and honestly? Zack wasn’t sure he was grateful for this single quiet moment.
“Nothing’s wrong,” Zack says with a sigh as he sits down beside the other. His gaze focused out towards the street, avoiding Milo’s. This was stupid, he shouldn't do this. Milo was happy, bright, cheerful, quick-witted, intelligent, and Zack was well, he was just Zack. “I just--”
“I’ve been thinking a lot lately,” Zack says, finally glancing at the other, his heart leaping into his throat. Forcing the words out before he could even prepare himself to say them, “I guess I kinda have a crush on you.”

“Wait, what?” Zack starts before the object smacks him in the face and he stumbles back.
“Okay, that was not nearly as painful as I thought it was gonna be,” Zack says, looking at what hit him in the face. “Is that--A teddy bear?”

“Milo,” Zack shakes his head, “I’m not sacrificing anything.” He reaches up, and takes his friend’s hand off his shoulder, and instead holds it, looking at Milo.
“You’re constantly getting hurt, and you’re constantly saying how you’re okay, but--” Where was he going with this exactly? He said the words first, he should have been able to back it up. But let’s face it, Zack didn’t mean to say anything in the first place. “I--I just wanna make sure you’re happy too.”
