While I made her for self indulgence and her background may vary based on what fandom she’s in… I don’t shy away from heavy topics since it’s my outlet if scary things happening in the real world. She’s my outlet to help me cope with some of my personal traumas.
Yes, I do ship her with certain controversial horror characters like Freddy Krueger, the Prototype, Jason Voorhees, ect…. I’m aware of fandom discourses with those characters.
First of all, I’m aware of the implications of Freddy Krueger may had been weird with kids and teens… (despite them just making him a child killer) but here’s the thing. People like me are attracted to him because he’s hilarious and got a sense of humor when killing his victims. I don’t even plan to intend to ship him with underage characters since my yume Theresa is an adult. (Early 20s at best for that universe ) Big age gap? Yes, but I do it to help me cope with my trauma. Don’t be shocked if I make him a massive creepy stalker to her. And he’s a fictional character, he’s not even real.
Second, yes I believe the Prototype is an adult. There’s been so much implications of him acting like an adult. The devs confirm they do age and grow and while their ages are anonymous… they said we can headcanon their current ages however we want. I can promise you nobody is attracted to child!Ollie, most of us love him due to his monster design and because as a CSA survivor, I can relate to the trauma he faced in childhood. So he’s a huge comfort character to me. And the infantilizion of the prototype feels very wierd and ableist.
And Jason Voorhees, yes…. He’s a mentally stunted adult but he’s still capable of survival skills and slaughtered so many people. I do believe he would take control of relationships… And sorry, seeing newbie fans infantilize him is weird… same case as Proto, mentally stunted adults can still function in relationships. It’s only bad if people take advantage of their vulnerability but also… Like with the others, he’s not real. He’s fictional.
I can go on but seeing the horror slasher fandom don’t really shy away from the taboo, I think I’ll be fine. It’s just newbie horror fans and the ppt fandom that are so new to horror and puritanical.
That being said, I don’t just put my yume with horror villains, I also ship her with final boys and final girls too. (Chris Redfield and Sidney Prescott) I’m just a demigirly expressing her love for horror movies and games ❤️
