Some of you guys genuinely cannot seem to bother to draw people of color correctly and just can't stop yourself from whitewashing them and it's lowkey pissing me off how often I see whitewashed fanart being reblogged and nothing being said about it.
Hell today I saw someone whitewash mane and deleting comments about it. And I find it crazy that people feel comfortable enough in this community to get away with blatant racist behavior.
What’s wild is reading discourse and then realizing it only exists within a small group of fandom. Like, I watch a lot of other shows as a general audience member and I never see any discourse for those shows. I’m sure it exists, but I know nothing about it and I enjoy those shows for what they are. There are MILLIONS of people who watch 911, enjoy it for what it is, and know nothing about buddie, or people denying Tommy’s existence, or people saying the show is queerbaiting, or stupid lies made up about fights over tomatoes. I yearn to be one of those people.
