mmmok i Get having a different interpretation of a character but like. if you see a post Specifically About a Different Interpretation then maybe you Dont need to argue about it with random people in the comments and act like its a huge issue…? especially when said post is about something thats way more heavily implied, more narratively interesting, and that the creator is actively advocating for?
. Yeah this is about transfem Jax tadc if I see ONE more comment about “ermmm he could be transmasc thooo🥺🥺🥺” im gonna KILL someone. Like I get maybe passively mentioning it in a conversation but every time I see it on a post about transFEM Jax theyre always replying to every comment and arguing like hell as if their life depends on weather or not the rabbit is a girl or a boy. especially when I feel like there are Other tadc characters which could be transmasc, even in a way thats just as interesting as Jax being transfem is, but no, for some reason theyre set on arguing over the obviously transfem bunny.
Like!!! do whatever you want but its crazy how the symbolism just flies over some people heads!!! not even mentioning gooseworx’s art- but I egt not everyone has seen that so eh. But, even if you do see him as transmasc instead, do you really have to fight for it like your life depends on it in a comment section of a random post obviously not about you? cant you just scroll and move on????"
welp. at least its not as bad as when people try to call Jax an incel.

Perhaps I am too forgiving. Not brutal enough. After the revolution, I'll probably be assigned to leading group yoga and poetry night instead of running a gulag. Some dreams will remain dreams forever, I suppose.
I don't really think that Natalie's comments are definitive proof that she's a Zionist or unforgivably evil or whatever. She certainly said some things that align with those qualities...but really, she just needs to (and I mean this in the most respectful way possible, you have to believe me) get over herself and stop being such a huge baby. She's always been a lib, and she's always had a lack of ambition, drive, and vision when it comes to real world politics and their development over a period of time greater than about five months. That is one of the qualities of her thought that allowed her to appeal as broadly as she did. None of this is new, but it also doesn't have to be forever!
Her comments were simultaneously sleeve-tugging and arrogant. The wet-eyed self-centeredness that dripped from every sentence made me do the jacking off motion with my arm while I rolled my eyes. But I think it's much more useful -- in a broadly political sense -- to encourage her to get on board with a political program that (slowly and stutteringly) has a meaningful direction to move towards. Her current positions, as they can be ascertained by her comments, align closely with the current state of the Democratic party; where one centers all political energy and action on a demographic of person that only exists on a spreadsheet. Of course she's doomposting. She has enough self-awareness to transition and enough philosophical know-how to (I would assume) read at least the basics of Marxist theory. And yet, she's forcing herself to align to the obviously doomed ideology of the center-left. That will make you insane, and it's not shocking that she ended up saying something stupid.
Unfortunately, for public figures, this sort of self-reflection and conscious change is very rare. What's most likely, however, is that she doesn't really want the online fame she has, and that she'll use this whole debacle as an offramp from it. Maybe, for her, that's the best outcome.
luv 2 argue with someone who thinks that explaining why something bad happened is the same thing as making an excuse for the bad thing and holding the actors blameless
the person youre arguing with has “people who still actively interact with any of jkr’s content” in their DNI and ALSO has a harry potter fanfic sideblog??
fhsjhsjhj thats hilarious
i need to not get involved in discourse. discourse is not fun. just block pluto
Re: mousegirl discourse
Tbh I read it as like, lighthearted ribbing? To me it read more like they were doing a bit more than actually trying to be disparaging. It's out of proportion, but that's the joke. But yeah if it was meant to be serious than it's unhinged behavior
Honestly yeah, looking back at the actual text of the post, I could see an at-least-halfway reasonable argument that it was meant in good faith fun. If it was intended as ribbing I still don't think it was good, though. Like that's still a weird thing to tease a stranger about. And I fully understand the backlash he got about it; people are touchy about their sexuality and transfems in particular get fuckin pilloried all the damn time¹ for being horny. I do think the scale of the backlash was dumb, like this was a block-and-move-on situation. Anyway, megapope is gone, the OP explicitly wants the whole thing to just die and be forgotten, and I really don't want to dwell on it any more than I already have, so I will be (to the best of my impulse-control ability) saying no more on the subject
¹ This is a commonly expressed perception, and one that I share, though I don't think I've ever seen like actual data that indicates transfems getting targeted for their sexuality more frequently than average. Would be kinda surprised if such data even exists currently. Call this claim a loosely-held belief.
So frustrating seeing any posts that refer to "afab transfems" talk about it like you cannot have a complicated relationship with femininity and not be a cisgender woman as an AFAB trans person. It is so frustrating to see no conceptualization of complex or multifaceted identity because the entire argument falls apart when someone like me (bigender) enters the picture. Not that it should matter, but I am not a cisgender woman by anyone's standards. The relationships I have with femininity and transition are simply not comparable to experiences that can be explained by being a trans man or a cis woman alone.
I don't call myself an "afab transfem", I use multigender terminology like bigender or androgyne most of the time. I understand the issue with the language, hence why I've coined terminology specific to this experience (revitrans). But in my experience, the relationship I have developed with femininity post-transition is not the same as the one I had with femininity when I was coerced into being cisgender. I fall under that umbrella. I'm well aware my experiences with femininity and being trans are not the same as transgender women either. I know I don't face the same systemic barriers, I know historical context. All of these things can be true at once.
I also remember that I'm not super connected with "afab transfem" communities online (or really any community online LOL). I'm not representative of everyone in those communities. I can hope that conversations are being had about the ways that we can verbalize these "not cisgender, but maybe something else" experiences without outright speaking over trans women, causing harm, or creating confusion. I just don't feel like I've seen people on either side advocating for any kind of conversation or exchange of experiences, and the conversations I've had on the issue on this website have been fleeting and overwhelming.
It all rly sucks because I think it's a really interesting conversation to have and I feel like we r really just recreating and reestablishing binaries between what a person can experience and rejecting when there are overlaps. I really do try to avoid commenting on this shit because I hate the state of online discourse and honestly so much more important things are happening in the world for trans people but fuckkkkkkk I hate seeing people making posts dictating other peoples lives
