Hi! I may be speaking into the wind here, but has anyone applied to a Disney internship ( specifically the story artist/visdev/ production management) and has heard anything back?
Any info would be great!! I applied in January and I’ve been under review since! So any insight would be a relief!
Yesterday was my last day as a Walt Disney Animation Studios Intern. It was an incredible and life changing experience. As a thank you card, I drew the Interns crew and some of the most inspiring mentors. I feel so honored to have worked with all of them.
Some updates!
Yesterday (2/28) I had my phone interview for the Disney College Program. I talked to Tanner for 21 minutes and I think it went really well, so I’m excited to see where it goes! Feel free to reach out if you have any questions about the interview process for the Disney College Program.
Today I also had some movement on the Professional Internship front! Unfortunately it included my first NLIC for Marvel’s Social Media Internship, but I also went In Progress for Walt Disney World Communications, which is one of my top two choices! Fingers crossed!
More good news!
So like I said in a previous post, I was also considering applying to the Disney College Program again in addition to my PI applications. I have actually applied twice in the past: I was accepted for Spring 2016 but ended up not being able to go due to rigidity in my course schedule, and then I applied for Spring 2017 but ended up having to withdraw my application before my phone interview due to a personal emergency.
Anyway, I decided to apply for Fall 2017 today and within a few hours received an email to schedule a phone interview! It completely skipped the web-based interview -- not sure if that’s because I passed the web-based interview last semester or what. I scheduled my phone interview for next week, so fingers crossed!
I have three weeks left at Disney. I'm trying to disguise my sadness with cheesy smiles and by secretly crying into Mickey Bars. (at Transportation and Ticket Center)

This was definitely the best moment in the world. After months of waiting, interviews, and many rejections, I received my offer call and my Job Submission status changed to this!

Hello out there! Welcome to my blog. I was recently hired to participate in a Disney Professional Internship and will be in Burbank this Summer living my dream!
I will be blogging throughout my experience at Disney: From applying, to orientation/traditions, to my actual internship. Please feel free to send any questions you might have, I hope this blog can be comprehensive and helpful to those of you thinking about applying to a DPI in the future or to those who are currently participating in one!
But… What exactly is a DPI?
I have noticed throughout my application process, there are a lot of abbreviations! I will be using “DPI” or “PI” to refer to Disney Professional Internship (because it’s a mouthful!). In addition to PIs, there is also the DCP (Disney College Program), the MIs (Management Internships) and I’m sure many many more.
I can only speak to the PI because it’s the only one that I have participated in. However, from my understanding it is different than the DCP as PIs are internships more focused on your career or major, while the DCP is working more at the parks. Again, I am no expert on the DCP, so please correct me if I’m wrong! I noticed there is a lot of information on the internet about the DCP and DCP participants, but not as much for DPI participants, so I wanted to shine light on this program as well!
I’m so excited and so thankful that I will be able to participate in a DPI, stay tuned for more information about my internship and the process of getting an internship with Disney!
