I desperately needed to redesign Tigger (to introduce him to my "new interpretation" of WTP). At first, I was VERY confused about the direction I should take with this "possible new cartoonish look," because I personally feel so familiar with the Disney version.
The Disney version presents him as a tall, thin, anthropomorphic plush toy. The most important thing, and what differentiates him so much from the original Tigger in the book, is that this Disney Tigger walks on two legs most of the time.
The book version presents it as an animalistic tiger plushie, which walks on all fours and possesses a more prominent "body dimension" than the rest of the plushies (often described as very large).
I was so confused about which direction to take! Two legs or four legs? Tall or long? Adult or child?
So many options!
My first choice was to make him more like a real tiger. You know, like furrier, lots of mane around his neck that gave him a strange resemblance to a "Golden Retriever" (which I honestly miss), and maybe more muscle mass (or "more cotton padding").
Then I explored a younger version (young enough to live with Kanga and Roo, as described in the book). He was of medium height (no taller than Kanga, but no shorter than Pooh), with a long, thin, restless tail, animal-like hands, and a very rustic, multi-functional belt.
I did not choose... either of the two previously mentioned options (except for preferring an adult version, specifically "Young Adult" in the process of becoming independent and ceasing to live with Kanga).
Well, for now I've decided on its body structure. It's wide (the dominant geometric shape is the rectangle with a triangular head), its tail is furry with a clipped tip, it has animalistic palms with hidden thumbs (following cartoon logic), and... THE HIND LEGS WERE THE HARDEST THING TO DECIDE!... Obviously, as you can see, I've decided on animalistic ("furry") hind legs.
I think I'm very satisfied with the final result!

Now I'm going to decide on the colors. I'm going for warm colors clashing with white (similar to real tigers), with charcoal stripes and patches of dark tones. Also! I definitely want to add a gold-toned textile trim, because I'm aiming for a "homemade Indian/Chinese plushie" vibe.
I'm going to look for inspiration from aspects of Chinese Children's Opera to try and find a way to give it some clothing--- ¡! OH, OK, OK! I KNOW! I KNOW!.... I've previously strongly supported the stance of refusing to encourage fan art (or fandom ideas) of Winnie the Pooh characters with clothes. Not out of morbid curiosity (get your mind out of the trash), but for the simple logic that plushies/animals don't have anything intimate or bodily to hide.
I mean, right now, my attitude is counterproductive.
But... in that case, I think it's important to recognize that clothing IS IMPORTANT for character design. Well, it's not like I'm going to add a lot of clothes to them.
