I always loved the Disney adaptation. Kanga was a mother figure, especially to Tigger. It's so sweet to think of Tigger being welcomed as her own son!

the difference between the Disney Pinocchio and the original book Pinocchio is hilarious to me, and i cannot stop thinking about it

imagine if the Russian Pinocchio "Real story" actually used the og story from the book

it would be madness, also im sure it would not be PG

Disney "Pinocchio": Here is a cricket, he will lead Pinocchio along the way and will try to help him

book "Pinocchio" : Pinocchio stomps the cricket to death and then starts to have a crisis

Disney "Pinocchio": Pinocchio respects geppeto and sees him as a father figure

book "Pinocchio": Pinocchio told people geppeto starved him, and almost got him arrested, because geppeto was too poor to give him anything other then three pears

Disney "Pinocchio": There's this fairy who brings Pinocchio to life to make geppeto happy :D

book Pinocchio: Geppeto gets a talking alive log, dont ask why, hes gonna turn it into a puppet

also the fairy shows up like once or twice in the story, and then later she grows up/ dies from sadness

Disney Pinocchio: Pinocchio turns back from a donkey by magic

book Pinocchio: Pinocchio, as a donkey, falls into water and his flesh is eaten alive by fishes, it hurts him, and its brutal, but hey, at least he's not a donkey anymore :)

tbh I think its because the Disney and the original Pinocchio had different.. morals

the point of Disney Pinocchio was to tell kids "Be nice, and be human"

the point of the book Pinocchio was also that but mixed in with "If you dont listen to your parents, horrible misfortune will fall upon you" and overall it was to scare the kids

my favourite type of books are the old ones whos main point was to scare children into behaving good

Goshhh! I just found out that Yakuza Lover has a live-action adaptation in Disney+! 😳😍

So apparently after the success of Lion King, disney execs wanted to make more animal adaptations of Shakespearean works. According to Wikipedia, Brother Bear was originally conceived as King Lear with Bears, set in Alaska.

Keeping that in mind, here are some of my ideas for this formula:

Rats-Taming of the Shrew-Rural America

Street Dogs-Merchant of Venice-Suburban India

Red Faced Macaques-Julius Ceaser-Japan
