I know we just went through Summer vacation, but is never to early to plan the next trip, especially is you want to go to Disney World – or Disney Land –
We are Disney addicts like probably most of you, that is why you came to read our post -thank you for that – so no more nonsense chitchat and let’s start.
Download the Disney App on your Phone
You will get anything you need here. We buy our tickets in advance here because they end up being cheaper that buying at the same location, in fact, if you buy more than one day, you will save a few valuable dollars. There is one package that Disney offers that is 4 tickets for 4 Parks each day, you cannot repeat the same part but hey! it is way cheaper.
2. Keep track of the waiting time of each attraction
A few days in advance, check the waiting time of the attractions. Because you will be able to prioritize the attractions you will want to visit first. Also, once in the park you can constantly check the app, because some attractions go from 40 minutes of wait to 10 and you can change your plans right there.
3. Do you want to skip the Princesses and Characters lines but still see them?
Then have breakfast with them, is the best investment ever.
There’s a few options, but the ones we liked the most were Brunch with the Disney Princesses at the Cinderella Castle also called “Cinderella’s Royal Table”. The princesses come one by one (Except for Belle and Rapunzel) and take some time to talk to their little guests, sign autographs and take pictures. The brunch is basically one pastry, a main dish and drinks. What you pay for is the experience.
Our other favorite is “Goofy’s kitchen” at Disneyland Resort. Maybe this is my favorite because is an ongoing show, the characters stop by your table several times and the kids get to dance and play with the characters and take hundreds of pictures. We recommend you to do this.
4. Fast Pass and Parent Switch
It made our days way more exciting, let me tell you how it works. You can use 3 fast passes during your visit. I would recommend you to attach it to your Disney App and reserve them a day before your visit, some attractions are very popular and fill up really fast. What a Fast Pass does is get you in the attraction faster, meaning you don’t have to do the long line but you have an specific time frame to go through that shorter line.
If you are a parent and you have small children, you can use Parent Switch. One parent goes first, asks for the ticket to switch with the other parent, goes through the line like everyone else and then when mom or dad is done, gives that ticket to the second parent to go through the faster line.
TIP& TRICK: What we do with #DaddyNate is to schedule 3 Fast Passes each one, different ones, and then when we do parent switch, the first parent doesn’t have to go through the regular looong line but faster one. Then he brings the Parent Switch ticket to the second parent and he or she can go through the same fast line and enjoy.
You guys, this makes our visits more enjoyable because we don’t have to wait long lines with our little 4 and 2 year old.
If you already didn’t know about this, now you do. This will save you a few dollars because food at the park is quite expensive and kids eat like vacuum, so might as well bring your own snacks.
6. If you can, Visit Magic Kingdom in two days.
This is the largest park at Disney. We have learned that if we do 2 days in Magic Kingdom we get less stressed, we are not running our little ones from one attraction to another to a parade, in fact we can even stop and have a break while they take a nap.
I know is pricey, but if you buy 2 tickets online you get a small discount and believe us, we all get to have a Disney Experience way better than when we rush throughout the park.
7. Use Fireworks time to visit the most busy attractions.
There this roller coaster called “Seven Dwarfs Mine Train” in Magic Kingdom that always has a line of 100 minutes wait. The only way to get in is by waiting for Fireworks. Everyone leaves to the castle to watch the show and the line goes down to 30 minutes witch in my experience ended up being 20. I am telling you, take advantage of this to run to your favorite attraction.
There’s 2 fireworks shows and 1 parade at the end of the day. If you have seen them a day before, take advantage and go for something new.
8. Stay until the very end.
I know you are tired but it totally worth it. The castle looks beautiful, and since a lot of people have left, you can actually visit stores and places that were very packed before.
9. Bring a stroller… or two
Even if you have a bigger kid, they will get tired. Even if he or she is not taking a nap, they might end up doing it. Is great to have it in case it happens, because if they are asleep, you can use that time to use your parent switch tickets and enjoy cool rides.
10. Be early for the Parades
A cool thing about it, since you got a great spot, the kids get to dance with the characters. At noon there is a party parade where they stop and dance in front of the castle and if your kid is the front line, he will be holding hands with Minnie Mouse or Buzz Lightyear .
Trick. Bring your own spray water bottle. If you get to buy one at the amenities in any Orlando store, it will be way more affordable and it will do the same thing as the $20 bottle with cold water at the park.
Tip: Don’t bring selfie sticks to the park, the are forbidden. If they find you carrying one, it won’t matter if you paid $5 or $50, they will keep it and toss it. Just take pictures Old School style.
We hope our tips and tricks help you have a smooth trip vacation to Disney We just want you to enjoy your trip and get into more attractions as possible in a short time.
See you in our next adventure.
