Hanging up the finished paintings:
Today, I helped Sylvia trim the edges of the paintings evenly using the guillotine so that we could stick them up on the wall in the corridor of FF01. We made sure we were happy with the positions of the paintings by placing them on the floor in order of how they would work taking in the scales and colour of each painting. There were 5 paintings to hang up in total. Each painting had their own different shades of colour, which made it even more interesting.
When we were hanging up the paintings, we had to make sure that there were no nails sticking out of the wall. So, myself and Sylvia took the nails out using pliers we borrowed out of the Sculpture studio. Unfortunately, we could not find a hammer to use to hang up the paintings, so we had to improvise and use folded up pieces of masking tape to stick the paintings up on the wall.
To hang up the paintings above the two bottom paintings, I carefully stood on a chair and made sure the paintings were evenly stuck on the wall and that none of the corners or edges were sticking out.
The last painting that we hung up was the biggest painting. We hung that up last so that we could figure out if it would work out better closer to the top or halfway between the four paintings. Halfway between the paintings was the best choice as I feel that it balances out the sizes of the other paintings.
