Ranging from smallest to biggest; sheep, pig, and calf hearts.  Yesterday’s adventures included prepping and dissecting some wet specimens, including these awesome guys!  They will all be uploaded to Vulture Culture Shop on Etsy, the 7th of August.

Dissected Heart

I splayed my heart out On crisp clean white paper Laid it out for you Chopped it to pieces Analyzed it My holy white sheet Looked like blood spatter From a gruesome murder It was the only way I knew How to lay it all out It was nasty and bloody But I did it I did it so you could see me Every last piece Dissected it out Like we once did with frogs Way back when in science class But frogs weren’t so bad And their hearts are so small But my heart isn’t small at all I pinned it down On crisp white paper And labeled each part of its whole The part that hates you The part that your mind is imbedded in The part that loved you The part that still loves you The part that keeps me coming back for more But you never said one word About my heart dissection Not a peep Maybe my heart is too bloody and battered Even for you to continue loving me
