My headcannon is that Michael Shelley spends what feels like FOREVER following that map inside the Distortion’s corridors, esp since time works differently there. So I made a playlist of songs that might fit his oscillating moods/thoughts as he wanders - as he slowly starts to become something not-quite-human.
Some Songs Included:
1. “lovely” by Billie Eilish ft. Khalid (“Oh I hope someday I’ll make it out of here/Even if it takes all night or a hundred years./Need a place to hide, but I can’t find one near/Wanna feel alive outside; I can’t fight my fear.”)
2. “Ghost” by Ingrid Michaelson (“I keep trying to walk/But my feet don’t find the solid ground./It’s like living in a bad dream./I keep trying to scream/But my tongue has finally lost its sound./I’ve got to say goodbye/To the pieces of me that have already died.”)
3. “Medusa” by Kailee Morgue (“She said ‘Mortal one, you’ve been chosen./You’re beautiful, but you’re broken./So hold onto this moment/And fight until you’re hopeless.’/There’s secrets and riddles that live in these walls./There’s ghosts of past heroes, and I hear them call my name.”)
4. “No Time to Die” by Billie Eilish (“Was I stupid to love you?/Was I reckless to help?/Was it obvious to everybody else/That I’d fallen for a lie?/You were never on my side.”)
5. “Waves” by Dean Lewis (“There is a swelling storm/And I’m caught up in the middle of it all./And it takes control/Of the person that I thought I was/The boy I used to know./There is a light in the dark/And I feel it’s warmth/In my hands, in my heart./Why can’t I hold on?”)
Sooo yeah.
