Forgive the 🎨 art-attack... Colors help me ignore my chronic pain.
Could It Be Aliens?!
As some of you know, I have suffered from stomach issues for almost 20 years. I've had 2 endoscopies and a colonoscopy and multiple blood tests, but they attributed my pain and nausea to diverticulosis and acid reflux. It felt like I had morning sickness all the time.
The COVID vaccine inflamed my gall bladder, which forced me to get my gut health under controll. I began a regime of acupressure & massage, probiotics, and CBD. I thought I had finally found relief because my symptoms got better. I wasn't nauseous or in pain as much.
Then 3 days ago, I was massaging my gut, and I've always had this issue where the pain is worse around my belly button. So I really started squeezing the area hard, especially where there was pain. I lean into the pain and squeeze it harder, which hurts but then the relief is amazing.
Anyway, I grabbed this really tender area around my belly button the other day and squeezed as hard as I could. All of a sudden, it felt like I was squeezing a 1 inch blister, which popped under the pressure of my fingers and actually made a pop and a squeak like I was letting air out of a balloon. THEN 100% OF MY PAIN AND NAUSEA WENT AWAY AND HASN'T COME BACK. It's been 3 days. What did I pop and why didn't the doctors find it? My son thinks it was an alien. What do you think?
Esther got her ultrasound today! Weird news. Her bladder has a bit of a partial septum partially separating her bladder into two chambers. AND THEN one of those chambers has a thin-walled diverticulum on it. A diverticulum is kind of like a balloon shaped pocket on the outside of an organ's wall with a smallish opening that goes into the organ. That diverticulum does not have much muscle on the outside of it like the rest of the bladder. This is likely why she can't empty her bladder completely when she pees. It just can't squeeze itself like the rest of the bladder does. We also got a new sterile sample of urine for culture to see what bacteria might be in there. She got a long-lasting pain med injection. And her bladder was flushed with topical gentamicin. On Monday she will have surgery two attempts to resection the diverticulum portion of her bladder to create a more appropriate shape. The recovery may be pretty awful, so there will be a lot of nursing and TLC at home after. Unfortunately, nurse Carrot had to be let go due to inappropriate conduct around her patients. 😝 #bunny #rabbit #vetcare #animalsanctuary #diverticulitis #diverticulosis https://www.instagram.com/p/B74LbmNnDNc/?igshid=sfrgctog8dht
Diverticulosis Is Less Dangerous Disease Than Previously Thought
Diverticulosis Is Less Dangerous Disease Than Previously Thought. Diverticulosis - a medical intractable characterized by pouches in the lining of the colon - is much less perilous than in days of yore believed, a new study contends Dec 2013. Previous research concluded that up to one-quarter of colonize with diverticulosis will develop a painful and sometimes serious infection called diverticulitis marathi. But this uncharted 15-year study shows that the risk is actually only about 1 percent over seven years. And "These colon pouches are commonly detected during colonoscopy, and patients rarity if they are important and what to do with them," said workroom senior author Dr Brennan Spiegel, an associate professor of cure-all at the University of California, Los Angeles. "In short, diverticulosis is not something to worry much about local singapore ladyboy. Chances are inadequate that something will happen," Spiegel said in a university news release. The UCLA side also found that people diagnosed with diverticulosis at a younger age are more likely to develop diverticulitis than those diagnosed at an older age. The cram included more than 2200 patients with diverticulosis who were followed for roughly seven years. Of those patients, about 4 percent developed diverticulitis based on a reformer clarity of the condition horny woman on mxit in kraaifontein. However, only 1 percent developed diverticulitis that met a strict definition of the condition. And while grass roots who were diagnosed with diverticulosis at a younger age were more likely to develop diverticulitis, their risk was nowhere near the in the old days cited 25 percent, according to the study published in the December issue of the journal Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology. Most relations develop diverticulosis as they age. More than half of people over 60 and two-thirds of those over 70 have the condition, but it inveterately doesn't cause problems. If a patient develops diverticulitis, doctors typically analyse the condition with antibiotics male extra. In severe cases, surgery may be required.
I'm trying to make an honest effort to take my health issues seriously (as well as lose some weight), so i'd like to know what you guys like to eat (especially from those who might also have these problems!!) because my normal meal planning has left me at a loss :T <3
I currently am: Lactose Intolerant, with Diverticulosis/Diverticulitis, and Pre-Diabetic.
As of right now, i can't have:
Foods high in starch/carbs (Potatoes, Bread, Pasta, etc)
Foods with tiny bits (Broccoli Florets, Seeds, Nuts, etc)
Foods that are hard to digest (Corn, Broccoli Stems, Nuts, etc)
Dairy that isn't aged (Soft cheeses like Mozzarella, Milk, Yogurt, etc is bad. Substitute milks like almond milk are fine though).
Beef & Ground/Minced meats in general
The only foods i don't LIKE to eat, are: Eggplant, Squash, Brussel Sprouts, Hominy, Black Beans, and Edemame/Snow Peas.
I'd love to know what you guys do as side-dishes more than just "Steam carrots/cauliflower and put butter on it." because that's getting old fast.
We love to eat Asian, Mexican, and German/European food and prefer not to deep-fry anything. We do eat seafood, and we don’t have any religious restrictions. Just budget restrictions lol.
Qinoa, Hemp Seed, Flax Seed, and Chia are not something i can do -- because that requires going to the expensive organic foods store and i am fucking broke. (I am aware that Amazon sells things too, but i don't have Prime and shipping is expensive.)
All that being said -- shower me with your food suggestions oh wise and healthy ones \o/
So we just found out some probiotics contain gluten.
My mum has diverticulitis and is recovering from a recent episode. She was told to take probiotics to help the gut lining in repairing itself. As a result, she is experiencing an intolerance to both lactose and gluten.
Through her research, she’s discovered that the lactose intolerance is most likely temporary. It is either because of her diverticulitis or a symptom of celiacs. And from the current state of things, it seems like she may have developed celiacs as a result of this recent infection.
Basically, my mum, the RN, has some theories about what could be wrong but still needs to see her family doctor. Also, if you are gluten intolerant or have celiacs, do some research to make sure the probiotics you might need, don’t have gluten.

I'm in pain.
