Also I forgot to post about it but Divetrail was attacked when I had 2/3rds of my military dwarves out raiding a goblin site by a web-slinging flying forgotten beast that came from the underlichen cavern layer...

It didn't help that my best squad, which I kept around, refused to wear the bountiful armor or use any of the bountiful weapons I had and attacked it completely nude...

I think you can tell what the fate of the fortress was...

#divetrail #dwarf fortress #i saw that apparently changing “wear over clothing” to “replace clothing” would make them actually put on gauntlets and boots #but really all it seemed to make them do was spend ingame weeks putting away all their clothes and changing.#and sometimes they would go into battle completely naked anyways.#even though the very first thing i created (except other iron anvils) was 30 full suits of iron armor

I seek to be just a little more slow with Divetrail, my newest fort. I usually wall off the caves right where I dig into them, but I want to conquer them, or at least one of them this time

Also, this is the first time I have ever embarked in a "calm" area. Usually I just live in a "wilderness" area.
