How to you suggest explaining things to neuro-typical co workers who have never heard of dyspraxia that they need to be very clear in instructions? My manager keeps asking me to do things that I’ve never done before and not really explaining anything. Also just today she was stressed and I asked her if she needed me to stay late and she wouldn’t give me a yes or no just, “if you want too...” I don’t know if she’s trying to not hurt my feelings by saying she doesn’t want me or not.

I think it depends on if she already knows you’re dyspraxic or not. If she doesn’t I’d start by telling her and giving her a brief explanation of what it is and then just simply tell her that you really struggle with vague instructions and new tasks so in order to perform to your best you need her and your other co-workers to be really clear with you. If she does already know then I’d, well do the same but minus the explanation of what it is. 

If you wanted you could print out some info about it and give it to her, but honestly I find that it’s sometimes easier to explain dyspraxia to people because they have no pre-conceived notations about it so they’ll basically just take anything I tell them about it at face value. 

I guess what I’m trying to say just sit down with her and explain the problem and what you need from her and don’t worry about her not knowing what it is. You don’t need to give her a super in depth explanation, just tell her the problem you’re having and how she can help (e.g by not giving you vague instructions.)
