Some personal commentary on the Final Episode of Kn8 (Out of order of events)

THEM BOARD OF DIRECTORS AINT SHIT!!!!! YOU DIDN'T LET MINA SIT DOWN! YOU TOLD HER STRAIGHT TO HER FACE THAT HER OPINION DIDN'T MATTER! GAVE HER SHIT WHEN SHE SPOKE HER MIND- THAT YOU ASKED HER TO BY THE WAY! YOU ONLY WANTED HER THERE TO SAY SHIT BECAUSE YOU WANTED TO COVER YOUR SORRY, DEATH-MONGERING ASSES!!!! YA'LL CAN SUCK ON A BAG OF SHAT ON, DISMEMBERED DICKS!!!!!!!!!!! CHOKE ON THEM, CHOKE ON THEM ALLLLLLL!!!!!! I thought I was being funny when I made them out to be slightly villainous in my fanfic, but I just seem to jinx shit when I write apparently.

With that out of the way....

Yoooo, that "Re-gen from the core" scene was straight fire! I liked how they made it almost look like Kn8 was a ghost coming back from the other side for a second there. Not sure how I feel with them making him glow red at the last second, though.

They took ma mans spare tire away (-̩̩̩-̩̩̩-̩̩̩-̩̩̩-̩̩̩___-̩̩̩-̩̩̩-̩̩̩-̩̩̩-̩̩̩) (I really hope that theory about him losing weight leads to his kaiju-ification it true. Give me back my soft body brawler daddy) Cool chest scar tho, wonder if anyone's gonna do a "scar worship" fic with KafHoshi or KafMina. (that might be something I might have to end up doing)

Awww! Look at everyone being happy that Kafka doesn't get to die! ("'dsldvnjvFUCKINBOARDOFDIRECTS!*foams at mouth*) Everybody going "Yay! Dad's gonna be ok!"

"Failed the entrance test twelve times" HOLD UP! When did Kafka start to enlist? When was the original cut off age point? DETAILS WOMAN, I NEED DETAILS!!!!!

AHHHAHAHHH!! GOD WHAT DID THEY DO TO NARUMI?!?!?? He was my least favorite, but they did him dirty, God damn. I really hope that's just helmet hair and they fix him in the next season. I'm not one to encourage a complete revamp of a show's art style, but I think it would be forgiveable here.

I'm starting to wonder if the production studio has had access to more information than we know. With the way the last few chapters of the manga have been going, everyone has gotten worried that it's ending soon, but the last sentences that Kn9 said has got me wondering if there are other things that may be occurring later down the line in the manga. I really hope that's the case because we have SOOO many unanswered questions.

Last, but not least, Everyone say thank you to the development studios that went out of their way to bring us extra scenes that weren't even thought about in the manga.

It was like being born; first nothing, then everything.  He had air, he could move, he could feel cold, hard, metal under him.  Carey could see his own groan as he tipped to stand on the linoleum floor and look around.  His clothes were torn, his body ached, and he could see other bodies laid out across stretchers throughout the room.  “Wha…the fu…” he couldn’t even get the whole word out before he realized the most pressing issue...He was in a fucking freezer.

He shuffled to the door, pounded, slammed into it, but nothing.  He wasn’t together, strong, enough to break it down in his state.  He looked back at the bodies and contemplated the option before trying the door again.  He slammed as it opened, leaving him careening into the other person’s arms.

“Carebear!” Wade delighted through the surgical mask as he helped his friend upright.  “I knew you’d come back to me!”

“Wade?”  Carey leaned against the wall as Deadpool shut the door. 

“Birdman’s back too...no...wait...Bird’s-Eye?  Eagle-Eye?  I don’t know, the guy with the arrows, Flint.”

“Clint.  Hawkeye,” Carey corrected with a chuckle as he slid down the wall.  He suspected Wade was intentionally getting it wrong to make him laugh.  “Fuck”

“I’d love to....but there are more pressing matters.”

"Food.”

“Also the big question...” Wade dramatically pulled the mask off, faked a thoughtful pause, and stage-whispered.  “Of why.”

Yay, Carey and Clint are alive again - obviously Gabe’s doing, they just don’t know yet, haha!  I have one more piece I know I wanna do for this section, but otherwise I kinda forget if there’s anything else, lol!   If there isn’t, after my next piece, I may do a few one-shot type ones to check in with characters before starting the next big section given there will be a 5-6 year jump between now and then. 😄

“Let me be very clear with you, I don’t want to do this.  Not to anyone.  But you’re making things impossible for me and I won’t have that.” Garrett wasn’t mad, just irritated; it was quite difficult to collect the dead when they refused to die.  “If you insist of remaining alive then I’ll just take you alive, but I assure you, you’re going to wish you were dead.”  He waited for an answer, only got a groan.  “Fine, have it your way then.”  He signaled to his men to collect the mutant.

Adults were of little interest to them except as a source: biological DNA, experimentation results, children if female.  But better to collect and use than set free.

Garrett made the call, heard the copter in the background as the line picked up.  “No issues, I trust?”

“The mutant won’t die, we’re taking it.”

“That’s fine, always need spare parts.”  Rice walked to the train tracks, looked out over the decimated forest with interest.  Whatever had done this was powerful...remarkably so.  “Make sure you collect whatever else might be left behind, we only get one-shot with these.”

“Of course.”

“And Pierce?”

“Yes?”

“Do try not to kill any civilians this time.”

Pierce only chuckled as the men ended the call, then he sighed.  

Consider this the end/epilogue of the latest main section of my Flawed Design, Marvel fic.  Garrett Pierce (Paul McGann face) is an ancestor of Donald Pierce and I’m not 100% sure where he is, but Rice (Tim Roth face) is where Ash and Psylocke fought Oskar...and, yes, he’s an ancestor of Zander Rice, but I don’t have a first name for him yet, lol!  Next will be some fun little filler pieces and then onto the next big section, which’ll take place about 5-6 years after this one did.

“Boy, my eyes are UP here!” Betsy smirked out as Ash’s stunned look continued.  She really hadn’t considered his reaction as she moved about the hotel room to get dressed - he was Ash.

Ash’s breath hit in an awkward laugh and he went red as her words registered.  “Sorry, I uh…”  he looked down, his eyes trailed across the carpet and up the wall to the ceiling before falling on hers.  “Hadn’t expected you to…come out quite like that.”

“Didn’t think you’d notice…or care.”

“I noticed.”  He was still doing his best not to look.  “It…doesn’t bother me, if that’s a concern.”

“I can see that.”

“No, I meant -”

She laughed as she continued getting dressed.  “I know what you meant, Ash, I’m just messing with you.”

He shook his head with a laugh.  “Thank god.”  

“So the golden boy looks at other women…I, for one, am shocked”

“There’s nothing wrong in appreciating how lovely the female body is and…yours is….”  It was hard being both honest and delicate with the topic, but it was pointless to lie to a woman who could read his mind…and he wouldn’t be so rude as to shut down her powers on her.  “Very lovely.”

“Try explaining that and all those naughty little thoughts running through your head to your girlfriend, buster.”

“Oh, god…” Ash frowned suddenly; not from fear, but guilt.  “Please…don’t mention this to her, okay?  It….It’ll just hurt her and I just-I don’t…”

Betsy’s amusement faded .  “I don’t tell on my friends.“  Then it returned.  “But I’m super glad we got two beds.”

“Even if there weren’t, I’d sleep on the floor,” Ash chuckled out, still red.

The opening line is from @wadeyourebarelyalive, who totally convinced me to write this one with extra encouragement from @zoesmama2024.  Beyond just a good laugh thought it’d be an interesting way to explore Ash and Psylocke’s friendship and, haha, show who joined him in his hunt for Logan (and Carey).

Carey looked around, sweaty, shaking, before he ran hands through his hair, threw on sweats, and headed out to roam the halls.  He ended up at the main kitchen of Xavier’s mansion, face-to-face with the man who once tried to gut him.

“...Carey, right?” Logan lifted the beer to his lips.  “Yeah, Xavier said Ash finally found you...most thought you were dead.”

“Sure I was once or twice.“

“Join the club.” His lips lifted a fraction, then fell with a sigh.  “Can’t sleep, huh?”

“It happens.”

“Tell me about it.  Wanna drink?”  He offered up a spare beer from his pack.  “Come on, bub, I don’t bite.”

Carey snorted a laugh as he took the bottle and drank.  “Can’t sleep either?”

“Never for very long,” Logan confessed into a swig.  “I don’t do well inside my head...but then, I doubt anyone else would do much better.”

“Same,” Carey nodded out, shifting slightly.  “Three months in you’d think I could at least make it to dawn,” he went to bed late enough it’d only be a few hours...but he could run on that.  Carey took a swig, sighed.  “The pretty redhead insisted I get a check-up, guess it threw me off.”  All the monitors, the needles.  “All that medical shit makes me feel like I’m gettin’ tested on, ya know?”

Logan only nodded, finished off his beer.  “Let’s get outta here, go do something.”

“Like?”

“No fucking clue, but sitting and sharing isn’t my thing.”  He didn’t care if they ended up getting drunk at a bar, hitting on women, or in a fist-fight with locals, at least it wouldn’t feel like some weird group therapy session. 

“Yeah, alright.”  For Carey, anything was better than thinking about all the reasons he couldn’t sleep.

I’m back to writing, woohoo!!!  So...it’s been about three months since Carey arrived at Xavier’s and the last piece.  While he’s probably been training and everything alongside Ash and everyone else and all I think Carey still feels sorta alone - aside from Deadpool, who’s bouncing in and out of Xavier’s lol - because of everything he’s been through, but hopefully he can bond with Logan over shared experiences.  (And, of course, the “pretty redhead” is Jean Grey, lol!)  Next I might catch up with some of the others - Gabe? Dusty? Orson? Ash and Sera? - we’ll see, haha!

“I wasn’t asking your permission, Carey.”  It was frustrating, his friend wanting to leave so soon after arriving; ever since reconnecting Carey had been pushing him away.  “This is what we do, what we’ve always done.  I track, you convince them to come in...one way or another.”

“What we did for Division Three...that’s over, Ash.  You’ve got Sera, you’ve got a new job, a new life, here.  I’ve got...my own shit.”

“What?  Self-loathing, anger, and fear?” Ash snapped before giving a sigh of regret.  “I don’t need another person trying to protect me by pushing me away, Carey.”  He already had his brother. 

“If you got hurt, I’d never forgive myself.”

“You think I don’t feel the same way about you?”  Ash’s lips flicked up briefly.  “Logan knows me, trusts me.  I can help and, maybe more importantly, I can find him a hell of a lot faster than you or Wade or anyone else outside Xavier.”  Who, at the moment, seemed to be of the mind-frame that it was best to leave Logan be...Ash was never so willing to sit and wait for someone to realize they needed help, support.

“Ash...” Carey growled a warning.  “No.”

Ash glared, stubborn as Carey.  “I’m going...we can go together or I can go alone, but if you’re going, I’m going.  End of discussion.”

Carey’s glare cracked to resignation.  “Seven AM tomorrow.”  He smirked.  “When the fuck ya get so bossy and stubborn, anyhow?”

“I have this friend, nice guy, but a real asshole,” Ash smirked back.  “Picked it up from him.”

I think Carey still kinda sees Ash as that “kid brother” type from when they worked together...but Ash grew some serious balls in his friend’s absence, haha!  Also Ash’s always been pretty stubborn when it comes to his desire to save people and he feels like both Carey and Logan need that...so, of course, no matter what Carey says or does, Ash’s gonna try and help, haha!
