You and Daryl both decided to search for Rick after he ‘died’. You both had the same plans, bring back Rick and give him a proper burial. But things weren’t easy at the beginning you and Daryl both were temperamental for months before you got along. You both grown closer than ever though, hearing the sobs of one another and seeing the pain. But your relationship started in the dead of winter. Daryl offered you to stay in his tent Since it was cold outside you yours had a hole in it. One thing leads to another and you both kiss throughout the night making your relationship more than a fantasy. But it’s been a year since then and things are about to change. Daryl set out this morning to hunt for food, while you started the very little chores that needed to be done. Daryl said he would be back by sundown and he was. He flips the tent flaps open a calm expression on his face, a dog is trailing behind him every step he makes. You raise your eyes brows in confusion, Looking from Daryl to the dog sitting beside his foot now. “Got good and bad news” eyes flicker to his face again waiting for the news he has to share. “Good news is I found an abandoned cabin, bad news is tha’ this damn dog keeps following me” you smile brightly at his words and start packing the majority of our clothes into the bag to be prepared for the morning. Daryl lays down on the sleeping bag with a grunt staring at your figure. After finishing packing everything we needed to leave, you straddled his waist peppering his face with quick kisses. His lips upturn in joy at the affection hands on your waist firmly. When morning comes everything including the tent is packed up and ready to go, the dog is still following behind us. The walk isn’t that long but still fairly lengthy, but the view is beautiful with the snow covering everything. When the cabin is in view dog runs ahead and starts wagging his tail waiting on the front porch. Daryl scoffs in amusement and walks towards the cabin as well. You all walk in and Daryl is immediately putting wood into the fireplace looking for matches to start the fire. You survey the area a fond smile not leaving your lips. Going through the closets finding a bunch of useless stuff but the ice skates catch your eye. You grab the skates carefully on the backs of the shoe and take them into the living room where Daryl is sitting on the couch petting dog. “Sooooo I was thinking, maybe we can go ice skating” you say showing him the two pairs of skates that were hidden behind your back to him. He grins at you shaking his head no and turning his head to dog. You groan loudly and put on your pleading voice. “But Babe there's a lake outside and everything is frozen over, even walkers” he lets out a puff of air looking at you again trying not to fold. Your skates fit perfectly but im sure Daryls are a little snug, probably for the best so he cant get out of them. You both get onto the ice steadily hands locked together trying to keep balance. But Dog goes full speed ahead on the ice slipping and sliding across it on his stomach. Its beautiful outside trees covered in snow surrounding the lake and the bright stars providing a perfect light. You and Daryl chuckle and start trying to move across the ice with better success. But of course Daryl gets the hang of it easy only falling on his ass once bringing you down with him. You on the other hand are not so good, you've fell a total of 6 times so Daryl now is holding you up right. He takes your hand and spins you around carefully but you still nearly fall. He laughs at you struggling helping you keep your balance non- the-less. Snow is falling harder then before coating Daryl's body along with yours. You both have a silent agreement to get off the ice soon so no one gets frostbite. But when he is twirling you around and dancing with you on the ice its like nothing matters. He dips you down into his arms to finish the dance and then leans in. His cold lips hit yours softly and leave when he pulls you back up into the standing position. You both skate off the ice until dog comes slamming into your legs sending you all flying into the snow with your heads thrown back in laughter
