Ran out of flat-head pins. So in a rare moment of "what the heck, why not" I thought I'd share the progress of the dragon egg i mentioned in my About Me post (aforementioned post if you want to see what I'm talking about)

I could only find silver pins at the store, but that's fine cuz this is only a practice run anyways XD I think next time I run to the store I should get 2 packs, maybe even 3 to be safe, because one pack only took me to about 1/3 of the way down. Then once feel better with how it looks I can do other colors like red or purple if I can find them

The original idea was I had been trying to make new tree ornaments for next year (this was going to be a tree topper). But I think I need something lighter (even 1/3 done I can feel the weight of it).

A Chandler for any occasion

The finished product Using a none functional Chandler as the base, adding silk flowers battery operated fairy lights and candles it was looking a little brighter. Stringing pearls adding more crystals and flowers may have been a step to far but every time I time the lights on it makes me smile.

Where do you get candle wax?

Hey!

Sorry, it took me so long to answer this but I wanted to be able to make it a bit longer.

I work with different wax sources and kinds:

buy paraffin wax as granulate from Amazon. Normally the 5kg bag.

I use a lot of wax leftover people give me (ask around people love getting rid of them)

I buy cheap tea lights*

I buy cheap white round candles. the common a bit boring type

*there are two different kinds of tea lights and it's important to get the ones you want. there are the ones that look white but are more transparent looking, and the ones that are actually white. It's hard to describe the difference but you will see it when you compare tea lights at the store. I use the actual white ones for pastel colors. I mix and match how I need and want it. Never use the white-colored tea lights without mixing it with paraffin tho it will get a weird texture.

For coloring, I use both, real wax colors and wax crayons. They come in so much more colors :D

I recommend, especially at the beginning to let the wax cool down completely before you melt it again and use it as a candle. Therefore you can check the color first. Especially if you work with wax that's supposed to look pastel it will look 300% darker melted than it does as soon as it cools. My pastel lavender looked plum when it was liquid.
