The hustle and bustle of Republic City never truly suited Napstablook’s introverted lifestyle, a non-bender with a passion for music that has yet to be shared with the world. Before their time in terms of style and skill when handling various instruments, the guzheng offers them plenty potential for independent composition where some others might require a large music ensemble to become greater than themselves. That being said, Napstablook could write the score for an entire orchestra if only they didn’t doubt themselves to the point where someone else might claim ownership of the piece. Thankfully, music thieves were quickly discredited and the citizens of Republic City found the notion of mystery composer rather novel.

Avoiding conflict out in the street and in the world of music both, Napstablook would rather invite a potential adversary in for some tea and quiet conversation in the hopes that things will turn out alright. They don’t hold onto those hopes for very long, even if their company proves pleasant enough, Napstablook might assume such a productive member of society has better places to be than an undiscovered musician’s humble dwelling.

Something about Harmonic Convergence inspires the young composer, but traveling to a whole new world is such an absurdly daring idea that Napstablook at first doesn’t fancy they’ll end up on the other side anytime soon. Everything comes as a bit of a rush when entrepreneur Varrick takes notice of the potential new business venture - musicals, but with spirits. No doubt a result of one of his brainstorming sessions, Napstablook has trouble saying no, especially after being reassured that the spirit world’s waterfalls provide enough privacy and solace for all the peace and quiet they could dream of.

Alphys trembled at the spine-chilling sight in front of her. The house was old and broken down, that much you could tell just from looking at the worn out exterior of the wooden building.

She had heard somewhere that this house was haunted, and she wanted to see it for herself. She had always been afraid of things like this. Not because of the creatures inside, she definitely wasn’t afraid of monsters.

She just didn’t really know what to expect when it came to what was hiding inside of the house, and she got startled easily.

She really didn’t want to make a fool of herself tonight. Not in front of someone, and there was no way she was going to go alone! She had to act like she wasn’t afraid at all, no matter what was found in the house. How hard could that be?

Alphys stood up straighter next to Napstablook before starting to creep towards the huge front doors.

“So, y-ya wanna go in? Or are you afraid of g-ghosts!” She giggled at her own joke, ignoring her stutter.

The crowd was roaring with electric fervor, cheering and demanding their star.

“Blook Blook Blook Blook!!!”

It was a chant that beat like a pulse in the heart of the dream, shaking the world behind the curtain where the little ghost lingered. They demanded their DJ to appear.

“Too much pressure?” Doremy made her presence known, sitting on a crate of props backstage. True that the dream would only progress once the dreamer stepped on stage, but it might not follow such a positive direction. For some this was a dream come true, their realized desire for fame in the glorious spotlight. For others this was the nightmare where there seemed to be no escape. Even the dreamer might have a feeling that once they were in front of those cheering millions, they might lose their voice, or their pants would be gone (the latter was not so much of a problem for this dreamer), yet they couldn’t walk away.

“Just to remind you, no one is forcing you to go on stage. You alone control your own actions, Mr. Blook.” A few simple words to help prevent him from waking up in a cold sweat.
