I’ve been seeing a lot of rpers on my dash complaining about personal blogs reblogging rp-related posts and I think either these personal bloggers are new to the rp scene and have no idea what’s going on or they just don’t care. Which I hope the latter isn’t the case, but! I figured since I have so many personal blogs following this account that I would make a small little post about etiquette.

ONE;

DO NOT REBLOG ROLEPLAYS. A lot of rpers use thread trackers and reblogging the roleplays messes those trackers up. Not only that, but for rpers like me… I don’t really want personal blogs reblogging my roleplays for privacy reasons, I suppose. It just makes me anxious when that happens! Personally, for me, it’s fine if you like a roleplay post, but I do know some people don’t like that.

TWO;

READ THE RULES. Some roleplayers have rules up for a reason and while most rpers know to read rules before engaging in a thread, personal blogs aren’t always aware of this and may do something against the rules. Some rpers may not have rules up for personal bloggers following them, so just ask to make sure. :)

THREE;

READ THE TAGS. Check the tags before you like or reblog a post. An rper might have made a tag stating that it’s not okay to reblog or like a certain post. For me, I typically tag posts I don’t want reblogged as “DO NOT REBLOG” which means I don’t want anyone to reblog it and “PERSONALS DO NOT REBLOG” which means I do not want any personals reblogging. Some people also put “OKAY TO REBLOG” or something along those lines, which makes it clear that you can reblog it.

FOUR;

DO NOT REBLOG ANYTHING RP RELATED UNLESS THE RPER GIVES THE OKAY! By this, I mean things like ask memes, headcanons, drabbles, doodles, etc. I guess it seems like a repeat of number one, but it’s different in the sense that some rpers aren’t okay with you reblogging asks, ask meme answers, etc.

FIVE;

IF YOU’RE NOT SURE, JUST ASK. The golden rule, honestly. If you are not sure if you can reblog and/or like something, just ask the rper! We don’t bite and we would sincerely appreciate if you asked us to clear up any confusion.

At first, I thought it was a little strange that personal blogs were following me; it’s never happened to me before! But, I L O V E being able to interact with you guys through anon asks and stuff, it’s actually a lot of fun and gives me a sense of pride that you guys like me enough to follow me and interact with me! :D I think it’s amazing that you guys want to take part in the rp community and I know I’m not the only one who is grateful for the love and support you guys show us by your questions, likes, etc. But, sometimes having personal followers is a downfall, but only when it comes to stuff like this. But, that’s okay, because you guys may not know! And now you do! I really hope you took the time to read this <3 Please continue to support and encourage us and we will try our best to keep you entertained!

this is a blog that will not judge you based on your ability to be grammatically correct / fluent in the english language. meaning, if you’re having difficulty replying to a thread because of language barriers — i will be 100% empathetic. meaning, i won’t reblog posts critically bashing roleplayers based on their writing style, because i don’t know the struggles that each person goes through in regards to writing. meaning, i won’t nitpick little grammatical errors in your reply.

please don’t ever feel inferior because english is your second language or you have a disability that keeps you from formulating “the perfect sentence.” the fact that you’re trying is enough, and you don’t have to prove anything to anyone.

The horror of Muffet’s battle occurs in the real world, clans of spiders working together exist in nature. Together the spiders can build huge webs that cover trees, and can capture more prey, and larger prey.

You see, what happens is that when a large prey, like the bats or the grasshopper in the photos, gets stuck in the web, the first spider that finds the prey will start tapping on the web in a pattern that other spiders will sense and recognize as “prey here” Of course in Muffet’s fight, we are told the spiders are dancing and clapping and tapping in a synchronized dance. The beat behind the battles music, Spider Dance, is the rhythm those spiders do to signal prey has been caught and causes the other spiders to swarm and help wrap up and bite the prey, subduing birds, small mammals, snakes, lizards, and bats much bigger than the spiders.

One or more of the largest female spiders in the colony will take care of reproducing and laying eggs, and will feed the young while leaving the hunting and killing of prey to other spiders, while male spiders tend to repair and expand the webs. This is exactly what happens with Muffet. She bakes food for and prepares caught prey for her children, while the rest of the smaller colony members fight and damage the players.

The whole time you are in that fight, you are stuck listening to the cool music playing in the background, that is actually the sound of millions of spiders swarming and tapping out a synchronized vibration rhythm to summon more spiders to come throw themselves at you. Muffet cares for her spider family, and she is willing to do whatever it takes to keep them safe together and to keep them fed. That happy dance is the dance calling for your doom. One tiny spider could never take down something your size, but as the bats and grasshoppers above learned the hard way, they will keep coming and coming and swarm you.

Now there is no evidence of this ever happening, but given the size these webs can get, and how the millions of silk strands can quickly become as strong as a steel cable twice as thick, and as someone who has encountered them in an infestation at a water treatment plant, it’s perfectly possible that someone who fell or kept trying to break through could get stuck in these huge web layers as they built up and tangled around, and there has been more than enough spiders recorded in these webs to deliver the amount of venom to put an adult male into shock, through thousands of bites, killing the same way people die from killer bee swarms stinging them all over. You would rot way before they could eat past your first layers of flesh, but they can digest birds and small mammals, so our very finely haired skin would be fair game to a species with fangs long enough to pierce it. Theoretically it could happen if you were a fool and ran into a huge web and kept struggling forward until you became stuck, but then again, that’s exactly what you just did in UnderTale, ahuhuhu!
