You know a large part of why humans domesticated pigeons was because they could always find their way back home. Nowadays however, they're seen as pests and nuisances. Abandoned by society at large after they ceased being useful.
This feels like such a dumb thing to complain about but genuinely it's?? so much work? I have social anxiety but equally it is my own responsibility to network and make my own work sound appealing and it's just. Such a Feeling.
I can talk about myself and my writing all the time, that part's not hard at all, but making sure that when I talk about it it sounds appealing? Being in charge of enticing others to actually interact?
Deeply tiring. I dislike interactions whose goal is advertisement and I UNDERSTAND it's different when it's indie creators and fanworks and not capitalism/consumerism but I think I'm still a bit rough from consumer culture, you know?
I just want to create and shout into the void and it not be tiring but at the same time I crave validation and I want to be known and it is. a dilemma.
I keep finding photo refs that scream modern au hypzag to me. So, even tho I haven't done any actually drawings, I need to like put my thoughts on their vibe in a modern au out into the universe. The vibes to me anyway.

So individually, I think we can agree Zagreus is a jock, but not like an american football jock, more like did cross-country and plays basketball for fun kind of jock. He is the wears cargo shorts in winter kind of guy to me. And all the pockets on the cargo shorts have something in them. He's a razor scooter kid to me. The plays with cats aggressively and now hia hands and forearms are regularly scratched up by the cats not being gentle either when playing to me. The will play tug of war with large dog breeds and struggle to me. He's can't grow a bread and pouts about it to me. Can't actually stand the taste of energy drinks, but somehow always seems like he's had at least 2 at any given moment in time. Would blast Sunflower by Post Malone and Swae Lee in the middle of summer while hanging around the nearest park with a basket ball court. Owns like 3 kind of shirts and thats it, the rest are just copies of them.
Hypnos is the sort who slept in class, but aced the test. Who in college would be the person playing games on their laptop during a lecture bc the assigned reading was easier than pay attention in class. Has a collection of weird shaped sunglass (yes, yes including the heart shaped and star shaped ones) but not a singular pair of regular sunglasses. Probably has like 50 tabletop games in a closet somewhere and knows a bunch of simple card magic tricks. Has a collection of squishmallows that he can throw at someone with unerring accuracy, it doesn't not matter which one, but only with the squishmallows. He can't throw a ball worth shit. Makes a fucking good ass hot chocolate, it'll be the prepackaged shit and somehow still taste better whenever he makes it. Never makes his bed bc its easier to get back into later then. Probably loves working with charcoal and despises trying to be good at painting (making a mess on purpose however he's all for.) Does the back on the ground, but legs on the wall so it looks like he's sitting on the wall thing.
Okay okay and like then the two of them together? Never once do they refer to the other as their boyfriend or partner. It could be mate, bro, my best friend, (as a joke) the homie, but never as a lover. However, whenever they stay the night at each other's house they always share the same bed. Doesn't matter if there’re more beds. They're sharing the same bed. Also takes like 0 prompting for them to kiss each other. Personal space does not exist with them, and this goes completely uncommented on by them. I mean like sharing straws or taking bite directly off the other's fork, or like leaning on the other to look at something over their shoulder, or thighs always touching when sitting next to each other even if there's more space or hell just randomly throwing their legs into the other's lap (mostly Hypnos to Zagreus.) Just like the things that make people squint all while they confirm absolutely fuck all about what exactly their relationship is.
In summary, they should be kind of losers together. (Seriously, this is just canon when you consider how people treat Hypnos and the fact that if you suck at game it means Zagreus is getting his ass handed to him on a reg. So like different flavor of loser, but they're both still losers.)
This month's ES is just if I had nickel for every time there was an incredibly fucked circus in a media I like, I'd have 2 nickels. Which isn't a lot, but its weird that it happened twice.
