I've been going and gotten tested to double check if I have anything else besides DLD, only for them to go "Yupp, you definitely have DLD!"

But first time been talking with someone who specializes in DLD and oh my god, SO MANY THINGS MAKE SENSE.

Like I already had a good idea, but oh my gods.

DLD Community Have Turned 7!

Today marks 7 years since I've created my Digital LEGO Designers community, where I gathered like-minded folks who enjoy digital brick building and sculpting who sought to have a safe, LGBTQIA+ friendly space to share their works! Thank you my friends for being part of this journey!

Shout out to folks with Developmental Language Disorder/Specific Language Impairment!

Honestly, we are waiting for our elementary school records to come in to see what was in our Speech Records, but I'm pretty sure we had / have a Developmental Language Disorder now that we are more able to look back on our life and all

And regarding my recent post on expecting parrots learning to speak when you could learn to speak parrot, part of the shitpost is that in the tags I said "I probably have DLD and can do it, yall have a better wired language super computer so you could too" but like, there in lies the joke

Cause honestly? I speak bird and cat and dog and what not because its easier for me to express myself with them and I unironically regularly engage with my fiance with borrowed and learned animal "language".

Cause honestly? Its WAY more simple and doesn't have a "direct word translation" as much as the sounds are function, context, and social engagement based which often serve more than enough to get the point through

And the thing with that? My fiance fully understands them all and I unironically forget that I am not having an actual conversation with my "pets". "Speaking animal" is a lot more helpful and communicative for me than actually speaking "human" and I honestly prefer my "pets" NOT speaking human
