I’d just like to say, the most I’ve seen for Capcom “condoning/canonizing” incest in DMC is when hideki kamiya (who only worked on 1) said Dante and Trish were suppose to be canon. (And because she looks just like his mom, and if he finds the hots for her, you see where it goes). I take it with a grain of salt though because it isn’t his story anymore (Because he only made 1 and 2-5 weren’t his plans)

To be fair, Kamiya didn’t just work on the first game, he created the entire series. So he does have valid input even to date, as far as I’m concerned.

Also Dante/Trish isn’t incest either (Trish is a shapeshifter demon simply made to look like Eva, she is not related to Dante in any way, shape, or form via blood or any other means), but it is pretty fucking weird tbh. There’s a saying that people often date/marry people that resemble their parents or smth, but that’s dancing way too far into Oedipus complex territory for my tastes. So.

As for the using it as an argument thing to say Capcom condones whatever the fuck: some people just like to wear their fetishes on their sleeves (and it’s a real fucking ugly shirt).

It says no where in Nero’s bio that he was adopted by Kyrie and Credo’s family and he definitely wasn’t adopted as a newborn lmao it says kids literally made fun of him at the orphanage because no one knew his mother.
