-Camilo doesn’t think the country of Italy exists. Why would he? He’s never left the Encanto, so there never would have been much evidence for him to think it’s real
-Dolores seems to have superhuman intuition. She can almost always tell when someone’s lying. This is because when she’s close enough to someone (maybe 10 feet or so) she can hear their heartbeat.
-Julieta’s room is just a straight up kitchen. Like a restaurant grade kitchen.
-When Pepa is scared, it gets really windy. The day Mirabel didn’t get a gift and Bruno left, she was so anxious that she created a mini tornado.
-Isabela’s favorite plant is actually the cactus. She decorates a portion of her room with them. Luisa calls it her “wall of spikes”.
Felix also doesn’t believe in Italy. He’s fairly certain France is a thing, though.
I think that the Saja Boys actually came from about the same era as Jinu, and all made individual deals with Gwi-Ma, which led them to become who they are.
Mystery was probably a thief, his deal was something to do with escaping the law, and he was forgotten by everyone who ever knew him or something
Romance and Abby I think were friends, who both fell for the same girl, and they both made deals to be more appealing to her. Romance tried to have a more attractive face while Abby made a deal for a better body. In the end, they probably both failed and their friendship was torn apart (until years later when Jinu invited them to join the Saja Boys)
Baby is probably chronologically the oldest, he made a deal to look young forever. Gwi-Ma probably cursed him so that no one ever saw him as anything other than a child.
So yeah, those are my thoughts, tell me what you think!
just thoughts of Modern AU Madrigal grandkids in a band together
-Isabela obviously being the lead singer, but she lets her sisters and cousins each have their time to shine
-Mirabel and Camilo both being guitarists, standing right next to each other and performing together(you just know their duets would go crazy)
-Bassist Dolores just vibing the whole show, then in the middle of the song Isa hands her the mic and she sings an incredible solo
-Luisa going ham on the drums
-Them all letting Toñito play with them for a while
-School talent show or something where Mirabel signs them up like “oh it’s just a little thing my siblings and cousins do in our free time” and they ROCK OUT
-the family becomes known throughout the school for being incredibly talented musicians
-“This song is dedicated to our parents and Abuela” or something
Encanto headcanons but it’s just me projecting onto them
-When Pepa gets angry, she regrets it afterwards. She sees people’s faces as her storms grow and she retreats to her room and cries about the pain she can cause
-Julieta’s schedule is HELL. She never gets time to do anything, and most of her moments with family are stolen. She constantly carries guilt of not being productive in her little free time
-Camilo gets antsy if he spends too long in the same form. Who is he if not someone with a fluid identity?
-Isabela wants to try a new aesthetic. She really does. But flowers… they’re part of her. She’s not Isabela without flowers. She doesn’t really like flowers that much, but she’s stuck with them this long and now she doesn’t want to change.
-Dolores forgets that she’s quiet. She doesn’t realize that she doesn’t say most everything in her head that she considers saying. Maybe if she did, people would pay more attention to her.
I will probably write this as a fanfic for those of you who care enough to want to read stuff based on this idea
The working title in my head is Encanto: Life With the Madrigals, but that names kinda bad. It is descriptive though, the idea is it’s a series of one off, slice of life episodes, that do have an overarching story by the end of each season.
My ideal run time would be about 24 episodes split into two seasons, but that doesn’t really matter as this is never gonna happen anyway, and if this ever gets written it’ll be more formatted as a collection of oneshots.
Some things I’m doing in this:
-It’s been 6 months since the end of the movie
-It will probably end up focusing on Camilo, Dolores and Mirabel mainly simply because I like Camilo and Dolores, and Mirabel just feels like a fun protagonist to write.
-There will be an OC, Valentina, and she ends up having a crush on one of the Madrigals so if you don’t like OCxcanon I’m sorry but this is my fic
-There will be at least one villainous character that’s not Abuela (but she will still be an asshole)
-I’m not going to write songs for it, but I may put an authors note with the general vibe of what the song would be if I did make it
Tagging @here4dragons @ridethatcyclone cause you interacted with my original post saying I might share this
Mermay art (with a very short story under the cut)
“Oh, darling…” Tidewater sighed as she crawled onto the rock. “You’ve outdone yourself.”
She reached out and grabbed the bottle, the cap carved into the shape of a heart. She pulled it off with her sharp teeth and shook it, letting the scroll fall out. As she sat comfortably, feeling her scales against the stone, she read the message her lover had written her.
Claire truly was a romantic. Every second of their time together felt like something out of a love story, ever since they first met on a cold winter night on the very beach she was now receiving this gift.
As Tidewater read the letter, she couldn’t stop herself from blushing, her smile getting bigger at every word. Claire was a poet, really, and a good one at that. The woman was a master of composing the most beautiful messages.
The final words of this particular letter were “I’ll see you soon, my love.”
The mermaid looked up at the picturesque seaside town where her darling lived, the memories flooding back to her. Their secret moonlight get-togethers, their romantic nights where the land meets the sea. Claire couldn’t breathe underwater, and Tidewater was unable to walk on land, so they could only ever meet on beaches, which was fine with both of them. They loved each moment together.
A young woman in an elegant green dress caught her eye, walking towards the beach. As she approached Tidewater, she smiled and said, “You didn’t think all I was going to give you was some flowers and a cute poem, did you?” Claire smiled at her lover.
Tidewater smiled as she sat on the rock with her. She held the gift in her hand “Oh, darling… you’ve outdone yourself.”
Snippet of a fanfic I’ve been working on for the madrigaydays event, specifically prompt 3: connect
might suck but oh well here we go
Isabela strolled through the store. She fashionably held her mom’s handmade grocery bag on her arm like it was a stylish purse. Anyone looking at her would have agreed that she was the best-looking woman in that grocery store. She strutted through the aisles, looking for all the things on her list.
As she made her way to the produce aisle, she looked around for the specific fruits her mamá had asked her for. Cherimoya, passion fruit, mango… the final one she needed to find was watermelon. She walked over to the area with the melons, not really paying attention to anyone around her until she collided with another young woman walking towards the mangoes.
“Oh! I’m sorry, I’m so sorry, miss!” The curly haired woman began to apologize profusely as she helped Isabela pick up her groceries. She wore a pretty simple t-shirt and short jeans that didn’t hide much of the shape of her body.
Isabela blushed a bit as she grasped for the fruits on the ground. “It’s okay, I wasn’t looking where I was going.”
The girl smirked. “Too busy thinking about looking hot?”
Isabela gave her a bit of a glare. “It was an honest mistake. But thanks for noticing-“ She flipped her hair a bit, brushed some dust off her clothes and held out a hand. “I’m Isabela Madrigal.”
The girl hesitantly shook it. “I’m Moana. Moana Waialiki. Are you… related to a Dolores Madrgial?”
Isabela’s brain was on fire. She couldn’t believe she was casually meeting her musical rival, the young woman she’d been striving to outshine. And she was really pretty…
“Yeah, Dolores is my cousin.” She smiled, trying and probably failing to avoid looking uncomfortable.
Moana put a hand on her hip. “Your cousin is cool, but she’s not as good-looking as you…” The way she looked at Isabela made her feel even more nervous. She was used to being looked at by people, and she was no stranger to being complimented for her looks. But this girl was different. She was so shameless with her attitude, not even caring that they had just met. And even though Isabela had been building up Moana as a competitor, she kinda liked it…
“You’re going to be in the Battle of the Bands, right?” Isabela asked, still trying not to stutter.
“Yep! See you there~” The woman leaned on a shelf, and sort of awkwardly fell. Isabela giggled quietly as she walked towards the dairy section. She’d get the watermelon later.
