The incident/accident at each wedding in my the ghost mountains AU. Idea taken from @hannahhook7744's own AUs version.
Here we go!
Gen 1(Pedro & Alma's parents generation):
Sophie & Ivan(Pedro's parents): Pedro ate the rings. Over 80 years later and no one has any clue what happened.
Pepa & Albert(Alma's parents): Albert's ex tried to object, at which Pepas hermana Camilia stood up and tackled her to the ground. In front of everybody.
Gen 2(Alma & Pedro's generation):
Alma & Pedro: The local lumberjack forgot a wedding was happening and chopped down the tree next to the church, it fell through the window onto the seat rows. Thankfully it was the empty seats left from Pedros family being quite small.
David & Andrea(Pedro's brother & SIL): Silvia, Davids sister, was off on a bounty hunting trip longer than expected and accidentally missed the whole wedding. She was the maid of honor.
Geraldo & Valeria(Alma's brother & SIL): Valeria's dress ripped in the skirt the day before and they had to get an emergency mend from the town seamstress.
Gen 3(Triplet's generation):
Luna & Fabian(Almas oldest niece & ex-nephew-in-law): A snake snuck in and bit Fabians great uncle, who died a day later. No wonder the marriage didn't work out, it was cursed!(And also Fabian neglected his kids.)
Pepa & Felix: Bruno made a bad joke that sent Pepa spiralling into a hurricane. In slightly better news, the bouquet hit Agustin in the face.
Julieta & Agustin: Agustin tripped and fell in the cake. Somehow that triggered a domino effect that ended in a cake fight.
Maria & Aaron(Triplets cousin & cousin-in-law): One of Aarons nephews walked in on Maria and Aaron making out in a closet after sneaking away from the celebration. They're just thankful he didn't walk in on them making babies.
Oscar & Marco(Almas nephew & nephew-in-law): No one was used to there being two Julietas and Camilo & Diego Jr used this to get Julieta to make an improv speech while Julie was in the bathroom. They were both grounded for a week.
Gabriela & James(Pedros niece & nephew-in-law): One of Antonios animals kept trying to 'flirt' with Diego Jr during the reception. He was running around switching between human and wolf form for like twenty minutes.
Gen 4(Grandkids generation):
Dolores & Mariano: The priest got sick last minute and Camilo suggested he takes his place. Obviously everyone shut that down and they got someone else in time.
Luisa & Jeronimo: OH GOD THE CAT HAS A KNIFE!! Surprisingly that was Antonio's first hostage negotiation.
Fern(Isabela) & Frost: Clay decided the reception was a perfect time to practice his geokinesis. He crashed a boulder into Casitas patio.
Aurora & Cláudio(Pedros great-niece & great-nephew-in-law): Cláudios sister got so drunk at the reception she threw up. All over Auroras dress.
Samuel & Doris(Almas great-nephew & great-niece-in-law): Doris' many exes from her dark days showed up trying to 'save' Samuel. By stabbing Doris, who thankfully was marrying into a badass family.
Mirabel & Lucas: A horse burst in and, according to Antonio, tried to object. Why, he refuses to say.
Clara & Febe(Almas great-niece & great-niece-in-law): Febes cousin, one of the bridesmaids, went into labour. In the middle of the vows.
Diego Jr & Gema(Pedros great-nephew & great-niece-in-law): A lot of stuff happened, including Diego Jr getting so drunk he tried to kill one of Antonios birds. Who thought it was a good idea to give a werewolf alcohol is unknown.
Antonio & Zoey: It was surprisingly uneventful besides Gabriela having an allergic reaction and the only person who brought any of Julietas food that didn't have anything she was allergic to being in the bathroom at the same time. It was a very stressful two minutes.
Random headcanon that Almas mama didn't actually approve of Pedro at first, mainly because he almost burned her kitchen down when he tried to help her in the bakery.
How I imagine it went down:
Pepa the I(Almas mama): "HOW DID YOU BURN WATER!?"
Magic is a strange thing.
It sleeps deep down in the earth, at the very core. Although in some places it seeps into the stone, the dirt and, said to happen every a hundred years, drip into a newborns blood, granting them powers ranging from useful skills to marvelous abilities. And once it's in a bloodline, it's almost impossible to get out.
These are known as bloodline miracles.
Although sometimes this'll change. Triggered not by a woman's cry but from a groups grief. Seeping not into a freshly born human but an important object to the one grieved.
These are known as grief miracles.
When grief miracles happen, it causes magic to become plentiful in the surrounding area, making bloodline miracles much more likely than anywhere else.
One example of a grief miracle surrounded by bloodline miracles is the ghost mountains, known by it's residents as the Encanto.
AKA an Encanto AU filled mainly by my headcanons and OCs.
Kinda taking a page out of @hannahhook7744's book and basing the designs for the Encanto villagers besides the OCs I've already made on Encanto concept art characters.
I'm writing a fanfic for the headcanon me and my sister have is that Bruno set up a betting pool every pregnancy for the gender.
So far the funniest joke to me is Bruno telling Casita to keep the coffee from Julieta.
Just barely beating the gimme motion thing.
Thats just what I've written so far, I'm still waiting to get to the part where Casita rolls the orange labeled betting bowl on the table and Pepa yells "You've got to be kidding me!"
Headcanon post-movie gift changes 'cause I'm procrastinating on writing down about my version of Almas father!
Julieta: Foods effectiveness depends on her own health, with bed-ridden = no effect. Touch also has a slight healing effect in which wounds will heal 5% faster as long as shes touching them or the skin around it.
(Think its a cute mental image for Julieta to pat a tiny scrap on Mirabels face and poof its healed.)
Pepa: Can change or stop her weather whenever she wants, although it will default back to her emotions if she's not paying attention.
(A lot of people keep her gift the same in post-canon fanfics when she was seen dancing happily while hailing at the end of the movie.)
Bruno: No longer has involuntary visions, instead having brief full-color visions of the future when he dreams.
(Honestly I kinda just want an excuse for them to know what pride flags are lol.)
Isabela: Can only grow plants she knows the name of, scientific or not. ('Cause Isabelas gift would be too OP without some kinda limit.)
Luisa: Gifts effectiveness depends on how much energy she has, with absolutely exhausted = no effect.
(Aka miracle forcing her to take breaks lol.)
Dolores: Hearing turned down 30-40%. Can temporarily mute things as long as they're in normal human hearing range, with just on the edge = 5 minutes and right up next to her = 1 hour.
(With how sensitive her hearing is implied to be in canon I'm shocked she's still sane. Fix this girls power geez!)
Camilo: Shapeshifting has a time limit ranging from 5 to 10 minutes depending on how different from how he actually looks he is.
(Example: Luisa looks very physically different from him so he can only shapeshift into her for 5 minutes while Dolores looks very similar to him so he can shapeshift into her for 10 minutes.)
Antonio: Can understand any human language since humans are a type of animal. Has a slight accent whenever he uses his gift.
(The accent thing just feels funny to me.)
Mirabel: Can sense how much danger her loved ones are in and how far away from her they are.
(Give this girl a power. The distance bit I imagine is so she knows how far she needs to go to help them if they're in serious danger.
Also:
Camilo: *Goes to prank Isabela while shes on her period.*
Mirabel: "Don't do that.")
