///
Name: Wes (or, in their culture, Wes-with-no-eyes)
Species: changeling
Gender: changes with skins, usually female
Class: bard, with some training in healing
Appearance: tends to almost always stick with the skin of a simple human girl with long red hair, pale skin, mismatched freckles, and milky eyes. Did I mention Wes is blind? Because that's uh kinda a Big Thing
Fun Facts: Since they're blind, Wes can only shift into skins when they have a rough idea of the facial/body structure. This is done by feeling someone up tracing someone's features and trying their best to replicate them
Hair color is a fucking pain in the ass, but they think they're getting the hang of it
They have like three skins they think they've perfected-- one's an elf, one's a half-orc, and one is Nerris (to be discussed in a bit)
They're kind of a loner but you know what they like it that way! It's not like they're both extroverted and in literal need of people to help them navigate areas and shift into things, no sir
One of their favorite activities is to ask people to describe colors to them
The other is to knock shit over
Literal cat
Became a bard because hey, they might not be able to fucking see, but doesn't that just mean they have double hearing potential? uwu
Honestly kind of an asshole, but like. In a good way
Has never met another changeling as far as they can remember
Horny on main but also perfectly content being single
Backstory: Nothing is known about Wes's life pre-Nerris, Nerris being the girl whose skin she's constantly wearing.
Wes's life took a turn the moment they woke up lying in a forest in the skin of a half-orc next to some girl's dead body.
Wes for the life of them could not think of anything that could have happened to lead them to this situation-- only that the girl next to them somehow felt both oddly familiar and completely foreign when they traced her features.
Wes, being an absolute genius, deduced that whatever the case was, some shit must have gone down the other day that they, as a changeling (and thus kind of not liked by default), would much rather not deal with. So they decided to shift back to their original form and take the fuck off.
The problem?
Along with not for the life of them being able to remember who this girl was and how they'd been roped into this situation, they could also not for the life of them remember their original form.
Which like, shouldn't be a problem because they're a changeling and forms are fluid and all, but. Look they don't have to explain themself to you, okay??
This led to Wes shifting as best as they could into the skin of the deceased girl, snipping off a bit of her hair for color reference, and promptly storming off to get some answers, no matter how long it might take.
This is what leads us to Wes's
Goals: To find out who this girl was so they can by extent trace their steps back to their original form. It's a tricky goal since they're, yknow, fucking blind, but they're working on it. So far they have only one clue, and it's that this girl's name was Nerris.
