The song starting with 例えば主役が報われるずに (What if the hero doesn't get his reward) it already hooks you in.

I adore this single line. it's just genius. it's so good at catching your interest and making you wonder what story are they telling. What kind of protagonist is featured in this story.

And i also think that it works so well because we have Kazuki's melancholic singing

and the next line このまま 物語が終わるかな (Will the story ends just like that?)

the song just started but the story is already ending?

時間を止めないで見ていれば (If you just watch the time without stopping it)

このまま（そうこのまま）このまま (As it is, yes just as it is. At this point...)

i really love this song. i love D.I's ballad mellow-ey songs a lot. the lyrics just go straight to the heart and it always amazes me how they incorporate rap into their songs making it equal with the singing parts.
