An Unknown Land
@grxmmwxtch
The good doctor’s most recent exploits had sent him into the far North. His quarry was a herd of Goliaths. He’d been studying them off and on for the last several months, documenting their paths of migration and how they reacted to different influences. Marin was tracking them today because they had suddenly and deliberately altered their course and headed North.
He followed them into uncharted territory, using his knowledge of Grimm behavior to avoid the hordes of Grimm that seemed to flow from the direction his target was headed to. After a solid week of tailing the herd, Marin ran into a wall, a literal one. From where he stood, he could see further on and peer into the unforgiving wasteland that lay ahead of him, but something impeded his movement.
On top of being brought to a halt by this barrier, the Goliaths were nowhere in sight. Their tracks vanished as they passed this invisible wall. He spent an entire day probing the wall, looking for a way past it before meditating and projecting himself to actually see just what was on the other side. It was more than just a wasteland, it was the darkest and most haunting place imaginable. Marin had stumbled upon the mythic Grimm tar pits.
“Oh rhizoids...”
