Dock Dogs Competition. Not reptile related, but still a totally cute snout. Lol.
Not sure which part of dock dogs is my favourite: 1. Super concentrated take off 2. Awkward halfway body change 3. Giant splash with a tiny head obscured amongst the waves
Today was awesome! Even though we had some unhappy campers with us, the rain stayed away and it wasn’t too hot or too cold, AND WE GOT A NEW RIBBON! I knew I should have practiced before throwing her off the dock, but I wasn’t thinking right and unfortunately instead of a beautiful jump, we got a humorous skidding off the dock. She slipped 4 feet 1 inches and after was honestly a little shaken and decided to not jump the rest of the day. But our slip up (literally) landed us in 3rd place out of 3 dogs in the novice category! It’s the best we could have hoped for honestly. I’m still so so proud and I’ll gladly take another dry dog ribbon too. One day we’ll soar off the dock again, even if it wasn’t today. I’m learning so much though about dog sports and Elektra in general! Besides, after the competition I went to the practice pond and with the help of some very sweet labs we got her flying off the dock like she knows how to do. Met some very nice people and I look forward to seeing them again! I’m really proud to say I’m part of the Chesapeake dock dogs.

We soared over the Novice catagory and went straight to Juniors, where we got fifth place in our group with a jump of 10 ft 6 inches! We're going to laugh at that score one day, but for today we'll celebrate!

Hi. I'm Elektra. I panicked the first time I jumped off this and had to be yanked out before I drowned! After an hour or so though, she was jumping at maybe 10 feet? Definitely not bad! Someone should come with me next time because it was beautiful and everyone was so friendly!
