Untitled SHINee doctor au fic; chapter 1

Disclaimer: i wrote this on my phone and also know nothing about writing so feel free to tell me what i can do better! ~~ "Doctor, your new intern is here...i found him lost down the hall..." Kibum, the very well groomed nurse, smirked. "This is Taemin." He said, pushing taemin towards jinki. "H-hello...im..my name is lee taemin..." he managed, holding out his hand as key spun around on his heel and walked the other way. "Have a nice first daaay~~" he called. "Lee Jinki, i'll be your attending throughout your internship here.." he said, only taking his eyes off of the chart he was scribbling notes on to look at the younger man, who looked alot younger than he was. Taemin pushed his glasses back up onto his nose, looking up at the older. "Oh, we just had a car accident come in, so it looks like you're coming with me." He closed the folder he was writing in and motioned for taemin to follow him. Taemin started to ask a question, but chickened out and just followed his new boss down the hall. "What are we dealing with Minho?" Jinki asked the EMT who was moving one of the victims of the wreck from their stretcher to the hospital bed. Taemin just stared wide eyed, not sure what he should be doing. "When we got there the car was flipped over, this is the first guy they pulled out, you got three more coming." Minho explained. Jinki glanced at taemin. "Ever put in a chest tube, taemin?" "U-hm only...on a cadaver..." he said, voice shaking as jinki handed him the equipment. "Same thing, just...you cant have a re-do if you screw this one up." Taemin nodded although he was taken aback by the blunt statement, and started making the incision. He mumbled the steps to himself as he went, glancing up at jinki for approval, but only saw him inserting an IV line. "What tests will he need, doctor?" It took taemin a couple of seconds, not used to anyone calling him doctor yet. "Um...he needs a chest x-ray to find out where the fluid is coming from, and a CT to look for internal bleeding.." he said, second-guessing himself until jinki nodded. "Go order it." Taemin sprinted out of the room and scrambled to find the extensions for the radiology department. He finally found it, flipping through a binder of phone numbers sitting on the desk at the nurses station. He got the tests ordered, and went back to tell jinki they were ready in radiology. As soon as he got there, the other three patients did too. He took a deep breath and started on the most critical. Minho made his way around the trauma room to stand next to jinki. "Whos the new kid?" "Thats my new intern, Taemin...fresh out of medical school, hes scared out of his mind." Jinki laughed softly as he finished cleaning the sutures on the first patient in from the wreck. Minho nodded and watched taemin and the other doctors working on a different patient. "I just hope nobody dies on his first day, i think he might die too.." Minho smirked. "Doctors..." he said, patting jinki on the back as his radio went off with chatter about another call. "See you in a minute.." he said, jogging back out to the ambulance. Twelve full hours later, taemin was nodding off in a desk chair. Kibum came up behind him and slammed a pile of patient files on the desk in front of him and taemin leapt out of the chair. Kibum was already on the floor laughing. "thats not funny..." taemin sighed. "Every new intern has to deal with his pranks for awhile..." jinki said, looking at taemin. "You did really good today, im impressed." "Thank you...im just...ready to get some sleep.." taemin sighed, wondering why he felt so...nice when he heard jinki telling him he did good. He was grabbing under the desk for his backpack and looked up to see him holding a pager. "Well good luck, you're on call." Taemins face fell. He stood up and took the little black device, dragging himself and his backpack down the hall, hoping no one in town would do anything stupid tonight. Kibum was smirking at jinki as he filed away paperwork for the day. "Hes cute, you should tap that." "Im not going to "tap" my intern, key.." jinki laughed. "Thats would be....favoritism.." he said, more serious this time. "Come on, you know if you don't, i will." "What about that guy who's always coming in with stuff in his ass? I thought you promised him a date if he would stop getting things stuck in there.." the nurse rolled his eyes. "Jonghyun? Well...yeah i suppose youre right..you know, he hasn't been in for two weeks.." "You better dust off some of your nice clothes then..." The doctor smirked, putting away the files for the next shift and heading down the hallway.

on Thursday I found some drawings on twitter about Haikyuu Doctors!au, it made me obsessed with the alternative universe like Grey's Anatomy or Night Shift so now I keep thinking about this universe both with Haikyuu and with the Marauders (the latter because they are a fixation of mine these days), now I want some fanfics about this

(of course I'm also ending up watching medical dramas because of this one like The Pitt or The Mumbai Diaries)

"How is he?" Hiccup asks as Astrid steps out of the room and into the hallway.

She grimaces. “It was a bumper-to-bumper accident. I’m surprised he’s still alive. But, with the right medicine, he’ll heal right up.”

"Glad to hear it."

"How are you doing, Dr. Haddock?” She uses the title playfully.

"Little stressed, but I’ll manage."

"You need any help?"

"Nah, I’ll be okay. Don’t worry about me. I’m supposed to worry about you."

"Let’s just agree to not worry about each other and worry about our patients instead."

"Yeah, I’m worried about my patience, too."

She laughs softly. “You know that’s not what I meant.”

He swiftly grabs her waist and pulls her into a kiss, right there in the middle of the hallway. Her hands go up and run through his auburn hair.

"If you’re not too busy," Dr. Eret says from their shoulder and they both jump in surprise. "There’s a kid with a broken arm who could use your help."

"Sorry," Astrid says, blushing, and wipes her mouth with the back of her hand. "I’m on it."

He eyes them both suspiciously. “Haddock and Hofferson, eh? Should’ve known you two were an item.”

They ignore him and Hiccup presses a quick kiss to her forehead.

"Good luck, Dr. Hofferson," he says in a playful voice. "And see you later."

She beams at him and hurries down the hallway to help out another hurt person in need.
