日本のスリーピースバンド The Wisely Brothersによる初のUKライブツアー、偶然居合わせた22歳のカメラマンが同行し撮影した2週間の記録を上映。

東京上映会のフライヤーをデザインしました。

監督の太壱君がロンドンで撮ってくれた写真を使って新しくヴィジュアルを制作。Hand Saw Pressで両面2色リソグラフ印刷、カラーはブラックと、蛍光グリーンのパーセンテージを低めにしてもらいました。 この日のこと。 テートモダンで色々と見た中にCY TWONBLYがいた、その後みんなで橋のふもとでコーヒー飲みながら夕方を過ごした。

Documentaly, Sakanaction (2011)

Most pop albums keep to the usual, unwritten artistic “rule” that they shouldn’t, for the sake of pacing their listener, consist solely of outlandish, radio-worthy ultra-hits. And, to a large extent, Sakanaction largely kept to that rule of law on all their albums prior to Documentaly. Here, however, they threw any pretence that they weren’t thoroughbred popstars aside, fifty-ish minutes of ear-ringing, stadium-filling, mind-broadening pop. Even the slower cuts here pulsate compared to past equivalents, paving the way for the kind of relentless, consuming pop we would see on the even huger 834.194.

There isn’t a moment on Documentaly that disappoints. Managing to encompass everything from YMO’s synthetics to the grooves of synth-funk, it is ostentatious and expensive but consistently flooring. Especially in its first half, it’s as rewarding a pop album as you’re likely to hear.
