It's on!
Today is the 1st day of my self imposed super inexpensive summer vacation into virtual reality as a Hot Skinny Chick with major swagger. As a sexy confident BBW (Big Beautiful Woman) in the ""real"" world. It gets exhausting while hoping for the world to just accept & love us as we are no matter how damn AWESOME we may be. Of course I wonder how different life would be without all of this extra weight on my body... but I'm not sure I am ready for all that action. Second Life seemed like the perfect opportunity to play out these thoughts as a visual mapping for a future me that could be, while exploring what it's like to be there already.
Can Losing Weight In Your 'Second Life' Help In Your First?

Journey round Manchester. Walked round Central- Looked round the Christmas food fair, I had a really good time, saw some great shops and really enjoyed the diverse culture/environment was refreshing to Kendal, got some interesting urban photographs round the city wish we could have spent more time there.
Wednesday 21st : Photojournalism-Photography activity
On Wednesday we investigated the subject of photojournalism. We looked a range of documentative photographers, Martin Parr, Jonatan Elderfield, Jeff,Wall,
Martin Parr
Jeff Wall
Philip-Lorca Dicorcia
Jonathan Elderfield
We analyzed their work, looking at the photographer style, characteristics and key elements in their photos, we explored any common themes, concepts which were depicted.
We then had a group critique in which we discussed our personal opinions on the images and how they made us feel, we talked about any social, religious, or political links and the possible reasons for the photograph.
Using the inspiration from how some of these photojournalists work, we were set the task of documenting life and social interaction around the site of Kendal, looking at themes such as (kitsch) tourism and mundane or daily activities and lifesyles.
I really enjoyed this exercise as I set out photographing with different purpose & aims which prompted me to explore different photographic styles & techniques. I was pleased with the results of this exercise, I thought it captured a authentic & different aspect of Kendal, I especially liked some the spontaneous & uncontrived expressions captured on this typical rainy day.
Here are a few of my favorites after the jump...
