Two years of binding!

I still feel like I'm new to all this, it's hard to believe I finished my first bind two years ago. But then I look at that bind and realize, yeah, I've come pretty far. 😅

I wish I could come up with some stats easily, I love stats, but I haven't been great about tracking how many binds I've done. And for some I've done several copies. So obviously I've made many more books than just the number of my tumblr posts would indicate.

Okay I have to make myself stop here or I'll just list every bind I made in the past year! But it makes me happy that so many of my binds make me happy!

I just got back from a trip to London where I bought a lot of bookcloth and beautiful paper, so I am very much looking forward to making more beautiful books with my new supplies!

I did this piece for @julcheninred and the Draw Drarry Badly Challenge, which I have never participated in before for an unknown reason?? !! I've wanted to try drawing for a long time but never got around to it, so I have almost zero experience, so unfortunately I did spend three hours trying really hard on this, LOL. I am extremely thrilled to finally use the tag MY ART. Behold, ye mighty, and despair!!!

Hihihi, it’s one of those posts that I’ve been writing in my head for some time now :D As soon as I’ve found out what fanbinding even is, I just KNEW dodger’s fics will be one of those I’ll simply have to bind.

So while Dodger is finding this lil bind on her doorstep, let me show you what I've been cooking for some time now :D

It was one of those projects that came to me while rereading the fic. See, it’s divided into parts. Each part is about one flower and its meaning. So as soon as I was done reading I made these notes on some loose sheet of paper:

I’m 100% sure it was in AO3 and was completed.

Set post Hogwarts but I don’t remember how many years.

Many parts was in Harry’s pov. He had trouble sleeping and Draco was his mind healer (probably). Everyone was trying to get Harry to sleep and his behavior was erratic and confusing.

I don’t remember anything more.

day 17 of @hprecfest — a fic that made you cry | previous recs

Harry Potter can't sleep.

harry hunts down dark artefacts. draco follows him around. for four years, there's been more to this story.

fics don't really make me cry, but perpetual sound was the most forceful, throat-constricting, breath-thinning work i've encountered in a while. i read it a couple months back, but even now, it comes back to me in jagged shards all the time.

it hits every beat that leaves me blinking: the mammoth-magnitude of harry's trauma, love as an act of faith & devotion, the brutality of total exhaustion, a world where reality is inconsistent, unsettled, uncertain. dodger centralises grief & writes it as a rising tide; all experience of this work is awash with its blunt, suffocating ache. the happy ending feels hard-won, fought for— you sob with harry on the comedown, let the aftermath settle thick and heavy.

many moments in this fic had me putting my phone away, staring at the ceiling, breathing hard. but— and i won't spoil it for anyone lucky enough to click into this fic for the first time— the revelation about draco in chapter 8, god, i shuddered into my hands about it for a good, long while. the dialogue, the reactions, the vibration of this work at the most fragile, tender, gentle frequency— what a devastation.

i love dodger's style— the enrapturing fullness of their writing wraps you up, reels you in and refuses to let go. this one may be my specific tearjerker rec, but i highly recommend everything they've written if you're looking for total immersion in bittersweet catharsis. as always, if you love it, let me know!
