Voice/talking headcannons for the chain
I think Hylians have a range of stereotypical British accents to non-stereotypical Australian accents.
Wild, Hyrule, Legend and Wind all talk really fast.
Wild because he has soooo much to say when he does talk. does anyone wake up and need to talk ‘cause they haven’t in hours? yeah well he’s that but x100(haha get it). and a bit more because of the years he didn’t talk pre-calamity. His voice is hoarse but calming in the same way. rough and fierce but also breathy, soft and gentle like the wilds! he talks slower and clearer whenever he’s upset, his voice gets raspier and loses and calming part of it. He uses a lot of “whaddya wanna do?” and other things like that because he talks so fast -not to be confused with the southern way someone like Twi would say it, but I think Wild has a sort of Australian accent. not the stereotypical way, it’s a mix of extremely British (flora) and Aussie. He rants in a British accent though. His voice pre-calamity would’ve been more like Wars/Vet but when he woke up post-calamity his accent was affected by the people at stables who he talked to first and who sound more casual Australian.
Hyrule talks fast because he wants people to hear everything without getting bored. he’s desperate to be heard in his era. his voice is kind of boyish, older than Wind and Four (Four doesn’t sound that young though), younger than Wild. his voice is a croak by the end of a sentence, he doesn’t stop to breathe. It’s a problem when they’re travelling because sometimes he’ll need to stop ‘cause of a headache after barely breathing. He and Wild have short words that form into one big word, too. ionreallycarwhahappns = I don’t really care what happens. Sometimes he gets voice cracks, he thinks it’s funny rather than being embarrassed.
Legend talks similarly to Hyrule, it’s just a bit more ‘proper’ compared to him. His words are quick, but sharp. You know exactly what he means and he hates repeating himself. His voice is a *little* nasally, which annoys him to no end. The ‘ionreallycarewhahappns’ that Wild/Hyrule say would be ‘ion really care what happens’ quick, sometimes mixed, but easy to decipher. After divine dark reflections his voice got a little higher because his rabbit voice was younger sounding and higher. Hyrule laughs at the voice cracks Legend will sometimes get (affectionate, a little teasing), so does Wars, Sky and Twi (completely opposite of affectionate, fully teasing.)
Wind talks fast for similar reasons to Hyrule, he wants people to listen. But he’s a bit more controlled than Hyrule. He talks a bit slower, breathes when he needs to, words are also shortened but more in between Wild/Hyrule to Legend scale. He tries to have that ‘pirate accent’ but it’s so forced. he tries to be Foxy accent wise and then sounds like Tim from boss baby. He’s got a youthful voice, many voice cracks. probably closer to the stereotypical Australian but not fully there. Within a few hours with the chain he did a very dramatic sigh and revealed said accent and dropped the pirate one.
Twilight and Time are the outliers to British/australian hyrule.
Time as a child had the accent of a poor Victorian child who might not make it through the winter (sorry time, it’s true.) and his voice stayed high until he was like 16 (and then it got DEEP). as he grew he picked up slang from Malon and Talon, then he started picking up their accent (Texan, of course. we all know malon has a southern accent). His voice is deep and his accent is kind of British and a bit Texan (if that makes sense).
Twilight is from Texas
Sky and wars are British
Sky is Victorian child pt.2 but just soundly like a sickly Victorian teen instead. his voice is calming, he’s very good at bedtime stories and lullabies. He like roar-yells when he yells angrily. GOOOOOOAAAAAAAGGGGGHHHHH *demonic noises* kinda. A bit nasally as well (bit hypocritical to tease legend about his nasally voice but oh well.) likes doing sing-songy voices. talks slower than average.
Wars is British but less so than Sky and more so than legend. Where Sky hits all his consonants and legend misses almost all Wars will hit just about half. His voice is deep as well, almost as deep as time. growl sounding a lot. Also very good with lullabies but will only sing in a low voice because he can’t reach higher for the life of him. Sometimes he sounds like a 50 year old Australian man from northern New South Wales/southern Queensland (iykyk)
Four is the epitome of Victorian child but could also have a southern accent depending on his mood.
