Do we think hdh will ever acknowledge that everyone hated that ending? And even more, acknowledge why we hated that ending? Especially now that we know he made an ending we would have been satisfied with?
daemon targaryen is such a beautifully written character
the intention behind literally any action daemon takes (no matter how big or small), can be analyzed in a hundred different ways, and that comes to show how much of a complex character he is.
there are so many layers to him—so much depth— and it makes him such a compelling, grey, character imo
Summary: During a battle, you fall overboard. You wake up to find out that Jack saved you. The trick is getting him to admit it.

“Y/N!” Ragetti called after you over the side of the Black Pearl.
You saw most of the crew watching you as you hit the water. The impact knocked you out.
When you came to, you were in the captain’s quarters. You were in Jack’s bed.
“Y/n! What a reprieve to see you awake.” Gibbs was in the room with you. He’d been leaving you a plate of food. “You’ve been out for 3 days.”
The method and reason you had been rescued were still mysteries to you. “How did--”
Gibbs must’ve known what you were going to say. “The Captain quickly put a stop to the fight once you went overboard. He almost immediately dove in after you...I’ve never seen Jack...frightened for another person’s wellbeing.” Gibbs told you that last part with some hesitation. He had always tried his best not to speak out of his place on the ship. “I’ll go tell the Captain you’re awake.”
When Gibbs did return, it was without Jack. Gibbs told to you that Jack wasn’t coming to see you. The first mate seemed rather embarrassed to give the news.
You expected Jack’s absence, however. You knew he would never willingly expose his soft spot for you by abandoning his post. You had to go to him.
“Hey, Jack.” A smile played at your lips as you greeted him.
Sparrow had been facing away from you at the wheel. He turned around to see you. “Y/n. Good. You’re awake. If you remained unconscious another day, we were going to cast you out to sea.”
“Don’t you mean cast me back?” you replied. “I remember falling into the ocean before I passed out. Any idea how I made it out?”
Jack turned back to the wheel. “I think your head wound is messing with your memories.”
“Is that so?”
“Yep.”
“Because Gibbs told me that you were the one to rescue me.”
The first mate had been walking up the stairs to the helm when you revealed that he had told you the truth. Gibbs froze in his tracks.
“Mr. Gibbs?”
“Yes, Captain?”
“Do me a favor and throw yourself over portside, will you?”
“Of course, Captain.”
“Belay that order, Gibbs,” you instructed calmly. “Go back to your duties.”
Without more words, Gibbs turned on his heel and left you and Jack.
“I would prefer it if you didn’t order around my men,” Jack stated.
“So are you not going to admit it? That you care about me?” you questioned.
He refused to look at you. “That is the plan.”
“Come on, Jack. Admit it. For me,” you pressed.
Still, he didn’t spare you a glance. “I would start gathering your affects now, we’ll be coming up on Tortuga later today.”
“Uh, Jack?” You started to sway on your feet. “I’m not feeling so well...” You lost your balance and stumbled.
“Y/n!” Jack, immediately concerned, caught you as you fell. “Are you alright? Are you--”
He stopped worrying once you started laughing. “I knew it!”
Jack stopped supporting you, but you quickly found your footing.
“I knew you cared!” you smiled.
Crossly, Sparrow turned back to the wheel. “Should see Tortuga on the horizon any moment now. I, for one, can’t wait to leave you on your sorry behind.”
“No need to be mean, Captain. Your feelings were never one-sided.” You swiftly turned around and descended the stairs to leave Jack alone.
The pirate in question, flabbergast, exited the helm as well to chase after you. “Wha-what’s that supposed to mean? Wait!”
