Hello friends 🤘🏼 Just a small update regarding the finale.

I know I’ve been saying I’m working on the last chapter (and I am!) but I wanted to be honest and say that I don’t think I’ll be able to finish it as quickly as I originally hoped.

Real life has become quite overwhelming over the last couple of weeks. Some unexpected things have come up surrounding my job and they require a lot of my attention and energy right now. I’m okay! But it does mean that my focus has to be split between fandom and some important decisions in my actual life.

The other thing is that this chapter is emotionally heavy. Not necessarily because of plot twists (I think most of the major twists are already on the table by now 😭 — most!) but because it’s the emotional culmination of everything’s that’s happened over the last 200k words. I want to give it the time and care it deserves rather than rushing it out while my head is somewhere else.

So unfortunately I can’t give an exact posting date. What I can promise is that the fic is not abandoned. I will finish it. Despite everything, I will finish it! I’ve said before that as long as I’m alive this fic will have an ending, and I mean that.

In the meantime if anyone feels like revisiting earlier chapters, please do! I will appreciate it so much. There are still quite a few things hidden throughout the fic that haven’t really been discussed yet, some strange details you might gloss over are very much there on purpose. (Although of course if you think you’ve seen a typo then that’s definitely a typo no need to analyse this one 😂)

Mostly though I just wanted to say thank you! Thank you for caring enough about this strange little universe that you’ve stuck around all this time. this fic’s Liam would be so happy.

Not excusing noel and I wouldn't be surprised if he turned out to be terrible (like russel brand level bad) because well...men, but Russell Brand was very very popular back then though. I mean in restrospect it's easy to see how awful he is and be shocked about noel being close to him and all that, but he was definitely well liked at that time. Noel was not the only one who was charmed so its not really surprising if sara was cool with him being the best man back then. Iirc peggy liked him just fine too. I mean the guy completely dropped his mask and became a completely different person after he got charged. In saying that, noel probably did ignore rb's more unsavoury behaviours over the years though but unfortunately thats pretty common among male rockstars 🤢 I mean both brothers are still standing by Paul. Not expecting them to cut him off but openly supporting him during the tour was :/

Yep! I think I remember seeing him so often back then but my perception of him changed when he broke up with katy perry via text, and while she was about to go on stage too. It was yucky and I felt so bad for her. Well I mean this is sort of a small thing compared to him being a rapist but you get me 😬

Makes me wonder if Noel thought nothing of the rb and katy’s divorce too… I’m guessing in 2011 he was still good friends with rb wasn’t he? He probably didn’t give a damn especially with his own recent wedding — and rb being his best man just months before the breakup. Hmmmm. Imagine the conversations they had about their partners!

And about n&l’s older brother too… yeah it’s still something that I can’t figure out, but I wouldn’t expect much from rockstars born in the 60s/70s.

Hiya pink! Can’t wait for the finale. I have a question. What made you choose Lancashire (or was it Lancaster) for that murder setting? And i am sure it’s the same setting as the adam and eve incident and where noel did his training with his da if I’m not wrong. Did the place have something to do with noel and liam in real life?

No it doesn’t have anything to do with Noel and Liam irl at all! The closest real-world Oasis connection to that is that Noel almost roadied for the Inspiral Carpets at the Sugarhouse (a student club in Lancaster), but even that didn’t really happen.

Although for a psywb headcanon: Noel [Noelín] made the band cancel the gig there on purpose because the idea of going anywhere near Lancs made him feel restless

For a bit of quick geography, Lancashire is the county, whereas Lancaster is the historic city inside it. (The Forest of) Bowland is this massive area just a short drive east from Lancaster city, and this whole Lancashire region is only about a 1 – 1.5 hour drive north from Manchester, which made it the perfect distance for… hiding a body in the 70s/80s (although obviously no one’s ever done this. MAYBE. HOPEFULLY).

Where Lancashire is in England

Bowland (near The Trough) — the river here is where I imagined little Noel washed his hands after the rabbit training. The roadside is not in this picture but there is one and you can still drive by.

Now to answer your questions… my reason was that 1, it was sort of a personal choice as I used to go here for uni and I was big into exploring around since it is a nature-oriented place — so it’s kind of like a tribute! And 2, THE FOLK HORROR! Pendle Hill, which I’m guessing you’ve seen Noel mention this as the area where Adam & Eve were buried, is a hill in the Bowland area and is incredibly famous for the 1612 Pendle Witch Trials, where 10 people were hunted down and executed by hanging. I just felt like wrapping this fic’s hereditary trauma and that doomed archetype into a landscape that already feels cursed and haunted. (Ahh and I’ve also seen some weird creepy stuff there too but that’s a different topic 😂)

Not excusing Noel doing his usual popping off his mouth, but was that blind quote allegedly about Courtney before or after she publicly made fun of Liam’s looks and said he smelled bad?

Noel famously holds grudges and he would go for the verbal jugular of anyone who slighted them. Again not excusing but that could be why he was so venomous there.

I’m not sure about the timeline!

Also I think if that were true then he probably would’ve dissed George Harrison a tad more harsh (because of GH’s comment about Liam) but it’s clear he respected George too much for that. I think it’s just….. well….. courtney’s a woman 😔 I have no say about this though I’ll let the people who know more explain this one
