Naturally, I feel like I’m a hopeless romantic,
but I’m always very much a heartless cynic
Who
Has the courage to
Assume the responsibility
This broken heart carries
Are all those knights
Really the dragons
Every love I ever witnessed
Was it never
Everlasting
?
if love ends...i hope it doesnt
maybe love exists,
maybe it dont.
You might be my Darcy
and i, you Elizabeth
but isn't uncertainty the point?
Fortnight,
maybe i shall be drunk
in another's arms,
But what matters is
now i am yours.
Darling, i am u certain
of the future yond
For i know not what will happen of us,
But this i am certain.
right now i am yours
and you; very mine.
Wow. 15 year old me was ahead of her time.
Love stories give everyone hope and reassurance that their “one” is out there. I believe in true love. I believe that you have a match and for the rest of your lives you will be a pair even in the toughest of times. But you know the thing about love stories? The love stories about how the guy loves all the girl’s flaws, how even when she has no makeup on she’s still the most beautiful girl in the entire world? And you think: Wow, there’s a guy out there who is going to love all of my weird quirks.
…
Then I remember that those books are written by women who maybe already have that for themselves, but some of them don’t. You remember that the stories are all pretend. Then you realize you’ve never, ever seen that kind of love, the kind of love you want, the kind of love you feel you need to go on. You’ve seen it in movies, you’ve read about it in books, you’ve heard stories from friends but you know they are making 10 times more glorious than it actually was.
...
That’s when you doubt if that love really exists. If there is somebody about there for you who will see you as their whole world instead of seeing the beautiful world, with the fantastic you in it. So for now you get texts from guys who call you ‘bae’ and ‘amazeballs’. The guys who say things like ‘douchepickle’ and ‘lol’ when you tell them you’re playing cards with your family. But when he texts you again, probably just because he’s bored, you reply. And then you feel grimey. hen you go on pinterest to find quotes like: “No regrets.” and “We only regret the words we didn’t say.” Because you need to tell yourself that it’s okay that you sent a reply to “What’s up bae” instead of ignoring it like you know you should have. Because maybe like me- you’re awkward around boys, 15 years old, kind of pretty, homeschooled girl, who wants to find true love and thinks she will find it from conversations like that. Because no matter if you send a reply or not you will regret what you do because you know neither one is getting you any closer to true love.
….
Because who knows if it even really exists anymore.
sad. time to get drunk again!
