LOVE, LOVE, LOVE. I really, really wish she’d been treated better by the narrative. Rosalie is def one of my favorite characters, ever. Behind all that feistiness & beauty there is a lot of depth and potential for her! (Thank god for fan fiction, right? Obviously SM did not understand the assignment.) She’s for sure a victim of SM’s “not like other girls” syndrome with Bella. Edward always made her out to be so vain and bitchy, and SMeyer’s misogynistic writing makes me physically ill. Not to mention, her trauma being so fresh when she was turned, and her holding onto it for decades. I couldn’t imagine. Rose is the perfect reminder that although being turned into a vampire has its… perks… doesn’t exactly rid you of lasting emotional pain and trauma & that you can carry that into your next life.
