Roman and Patton are Thomas's dogs (Roman being a somewhat big dog and Patton being a smaller one). Logan is Thomas's cat. Virgil is a stray kitten Logan found alone in an alley and brought to Thomas, and Thomas promptly adopted him. When they first found him, Virgil was wary and distrustful of all of them except Logan. Now he's willing to join Patton in his dog bed, go to sleep on Roman's back when invited (prompting an "Oh, good boy, Roman" whenever Thomas sees this), and even come curl up on Thomas's lap to hide from thunderstorms and fall asleep there after some amount of petting.

So I think we have:

🐶 Patton, because he seems to me a lot like a dog and I love to imagine him like a Corgi, always ready to play, super loyal, a little and super soft ball of fur and energy;

🐱 Logan, because cats always have a superior behavior, they are very independent and they are often really smart;

🦁 Roman, but like as a cub, because he is the Prince and one day he will be the King, he is brave and always ready to fight to protect the ones he love;

🐺 Virgil, as a lonely wolf that went away from his original pack to find a family that he could love and that could love him back with true and unreserved love;

🐍 Deceit, of course, do I need to explain? Really?

🐙 Remus, of course, and did you know that no one believed that octopuses could learn things, but then it was discovered that they are highly intelligent and the extent of their intelligence and learning capability are still not well defined? And I see this as a very big point to why Remus is a octopus, because no one want to listen to him but I feel like he is much more intelligent then what we had the chance to see.
