Rocky & Julio at the Hot Dog Cafe
Last week my fiancé Ryan, French Bulldog Rocky and I took a trip to Montreal where we stopped in at Hot Dog Café, a dog-friendly restaurant located in Brossard, on the south shore of Montreal.
On the scale of 1 to awesome, they pretty much surpass the top end of awesome. We were so impressed with everything about Hot Dog Café. Not only is it a fantastic place for dogs, the space is absolutely immaculate and the food is delicious. The dining room/lounge decor is sleek, clean and comfortable featuring high ceilings and contemporary furniture. It has a great energy and brings together a special crop of people, animal lovers.
One of the many exceptional things about the restaurant is their indoor play area where you can leave your dog while you enjoy a meal, coffee or a few brewskies. There are TVs throughout the dining room displaying a feed of the play area where you can keep an eye on your pet.
We opted to take Rocky with us to the dining room as he had just gone all out at the dog park. He sat quietly (as quietly as a Frenchie can possibly be!) on a bench in a u-shaped booth, where we could secure his leash to our booth. Along with our menus, our server brought over a bowl of cold water for Rocky. Sitting with us actually worked in his favor since we're suckers for his cute mug and couldn't resist sharing pieces of chicken and cheese with the little guy. Watch the video.
Aside from leaving your fur baby at the play area or taking him/her with you at in the dining room, Hot Dog Café offers a variety of grooming services from nail clipping and fur grooming to overnight boarding. For canines & felines of the fancier kind, they offer facials, massages, nail polish application and many more services.
We left wishing there was a Hot Dog Café in Ottawa. It was a fantastic experience and we'll definitely return the next time we're in town!
