i had to take bandit to the emergency vet tonight. he got a toad and i’m always bad at identifying them. i always think it’s a Bufo toad. and i was standing literally two steps away from him. i saw him chasing something called his name turned on my flashlight but he had already gotten it

me and my dad rinsed his mouth out and cause bandit got soaked in the process i gave him a bath and then after his bath he threw up 3 times. and then he was really lethargic and not walking properly and kept flopping over.

so i drove him to the vet while bawling and my mom met me there. they don’t think it was a bofu (he never had seizures or foaming at the mouth—none of the classic symptoms—and if he did it would’ve shown up quickly it’s never delayed onset)

so they gave him just fluids and anti nausea meds. and he’s been sleeping pretty much since we got home. but he’s more himself. still curious with noises and walking around normal. not fully playing or anything but he’s normal.

he would only eat a couple bites of plain rice but they said it’s normal if he doesn’t want to eat.

i think a lot of ppl remember this happening bc of how sad it was but abt a month/two months ago my older sisters dog died, it was pretty sudden and rly hard for all of us but esp for her bc they were always together for the past eight years. shes still extremely sad abt him and abt a week ago she was telling us how a vet had called her to tell her how sorry they were to hear abt morgan and so she went to a store to clear her head, and she said that literally while she was in the store she was like "i cant get another animal again, the ONLY way i'll ever be able to do that is if its like, a cat in need or something like thta but i wont adopt smthn....." n literally as she was leaving the store this lady came up to her and told her that she found a litter of rly young kittens and that she couldnt afford to take care of all of them, but if my sister wanted to have one the woman would give one to her, ONLY if my sis took it to the vet afterward

so long story short my older sister was given a young kitten that she named frog. hes been doing rly good for the last week according to her, he was rly sickly/had worms n is rly small for his age (hes literally only a pound and is abt 8-9 weeks old according to the vet) but tbh it just kinda. was rly emotional for us bc it was a rly weird way the stars kind of aligned for her, like she didnt necessarily want another animal bc she feels so guilty abt morgan (even tho it wasnt anyones fault and she did everything she could for him) but we've been letting her know that theres nothing wrong with being able to love smthn again. like my whole family is very aware abt the grief process but i rly like to think that frog was a gift from morgan in a weird way, like the universe/him telling her that its okay to love another animal again. frog isnt a replacement for morg at all n no one can do that for anyone of us, esp her, but its just being able to love another pet in a different way. anyways idk i wanted to ramble abt it bc i havent met frog yet but i already love him and my sister sounds so much better than she has for the past two months ever since she found him

skin cancer on her lip. yes its melignant but she should be fine for two years

My dog has an infected wound on her back, the vet had to squeeze it, shave the area and I am supposed to regularly wipe it and she flinches when I do. I am so sad. I know she is nearing the end and trying to find that line between giving her the most of life but making sure it is quality and she isn't suffering is so hard.

I feel so sad and anxious.

My poor baby (My 6ish year old schnauzer) threw up twice tonight and it looks like the chili my dad made. everyone swears up and down they didnt feed her any, and i have no clue what else it could be.

 She hasnt thrown up in over a year im sure, and i dont really know how to help her. Im keeping an eye on her, and shes doing okay right this minuet. 

after she threw up the second time i put her outsid ehwile i cleaned it up and i gave her fresh water right from the tap. (The water in her bowl was from a little earlier in the afternoon. She has eaten her regular amount of food, though when my sister tired to feed her dinner she didnt eat it at first. but Apearntly did within the next 15  minuets. 

I cant really be to worried, because shes only thrown up twice in the past 6 hours, so i cant know if its a persisting illness or if she just ate a lot of grass, or a frog or lizzard or something like that. 

there has been a cat roaming the neiborhood. I guess its possible she could have eaten cat poop and that be what upset her. 

She didnt try to eat her vomit like alot of dogs do. She rarely does that. I guess im just being a worried mother lol. 

But if anyone has any suggestiuons or ideas as to what might have caused this and how to relieve temporary vomiting in a dog, its all very welcome!

Except for the Vegan crap. I need advice for a dog on a lamb and rice diet. and its a really good food brand to. My dog is soooo spoiled.
