Dogs
Dogs have feelings and show emotion.
My dog (since she was little) had an occasional habit of stealing one of my stuffed animals and carrying it around the house whining. My mom and I always called the stuffed animals she stole her “babies” but that’s besides the point.
She is now 11 years old and the best dog I could’ve ever asked for as my first pup. Today she got into the trash that had fallen over on the side of my house and she came into the house acting really odd. I didn’t think too much of it because sometimes she just has these odd moments of acting really puppy-like and needy. As usual I just tried to calm her down and get her to settle down because she has the tendency to pace around the house whining and trying to drag a stuffed animal all over the place. (Mind you she is toothless wonder over here with absolutely no teeth and just kind of awkwardly holding a stuffed animal about the same size as she is in her mouth whining).
Finally I decide to go to bed and since she sleeps with me she will usually calm down once we lay down together with her settled on my stomach or back or wherever she feels comfortable in that moment. But she continued to act weird and just grab stuffed animal after stuffed animal from my bed and whine with them in her mouth and sort of try to cuddle with them and with me but she just was not her usual self.
Finally she starts to do the gag thing where you know they are about to throw up or something and so I set her on the floor where it would be easier to pick up the mess than if it went on my bed and KAPOW. She had eaten pizza from the garbage without my knowledge and after she got it out of her system she was fine and just wanted to lay down and cuddle with me.
Looking back on it I just can’t help but feel so bad for her and think that WOW dogs are so similar to us (or at least to me). She tried to seek comfort and was obviously not feeling good and was trying to simultaneously express her discomfort as well as again SEEK COMFORT. My heart just aches thinking about her doing this.
My poor little old lady.
