5.9.2024.
Hitting all the workouts this week 👌 Starting next week I have some downtime, thank goodness. Even my doggo thinks I need to rethink my schedule. . .
I signed up for a 5k tomorrow.
Should I do one on my treadmill today or should I rest? I did a dumbell circuit and a short bike yesterday while watching a YouTube live.
The 2 days previous were longer, as I had a little more time than normal.
Today I need to get mom to the Dr. Pray for me.
The more time I spend here, far away from home, in the place where she grew up, eating the food she ate, meeting the people she knew, and doing things she did, the more I understand my mom and the closer I feel to her.
Hi! I'm sorry to bother you. I'm just a bit confused about how this blog operates, and was hoping you'd be able to clarify. Do people send in requests for particular rec lists, and then you create a rec list directly in response to that request? Or do you come up with the ideas for rec lists yourselves? Whichever it is, I'm super grateful for all the time and work you put into it :)
This is a combined response to both the above Anon ask and @imaginaryelle, who asked:
“Hello! Thanks so much for reccing my fic :D I was wondering why it was tagged teen/under? Is that the fic audience rating or something else? Just a little confused. Thanks!”
Fic Ratings
First, @imaginaryelle, you’re quite welcome! One of our biggest joys is finding and reading more wonderful fic to rec!
To answer your question, the “teen/under” note is the audience rating, specifically where it will go in our categorisation system once it gets moved from the “Newly Added” spot into the regular list. Especially with longer lists, we tend to divide them into adult and non-adult categories. The latter is “Teen and Under,” which is why the note appears there beside your fic. Really, our only concern here is whether or not a fic is adult, i.e. would be rated M or E on Ao3. I know we may make mistakes sometimes, but we try to make sure adult-rated fic is clearly noted, both for those who don’t want to read it and those who do! ;)
How We Do The Things
More generally, for you, Nonny, the answer is “yes”. ;D We do both – we create rec lists from specific requests, and we also come up with rec lists ourselves.
In addition, many of our initial lists came from @allegoricalrose. For quite a while she was compiling fic rec lists for the fandom, most in response to follower requests. When she became too busy for new requests or keeping the lists updated as often as she’d like, @goingtothetardis and @caedmonfaith stepped in (forgive me if my memory is failing me and I’m missing anyone!) and asked her permission to use her lists as a starting point. Thus the blog was born! @goingtothetardis passed the blog to me in 2016 and a few more people, including @caedmonfaith, came and went, so now it’s the three of us: @promisedyouforever (me, alleged “admin” *cough cough*, blog designer, and codemonkey), @chiaroscuroverse (the unstoppable fic ninja!), and @skyler10fic (defender of the parallel universe and All Things Tentoo)!
For more info, take a look at our FAQ.
A Few Last Notes
It may take us some time to get recs together if you send us a request, and we can’t guarantee we’ll always be able to find what you’re looking for, but we do our best!
If you have a favourite fic (or fics!) that you don’t see on our lists, we’d love it if you let us know via ask or submit. We’re always looking for more fic!
We regularly update our existing lists by adding new fic, and I try my best to keep the links current. So if you have a favourite category and you haven’t looked in a while, there may be new fic there!

For the last few days I’ve been trying out @letholetgod‘s 1 Thing strategy to actually try and get stuff done because frankly I look at the list of things I ‘should’ be doing and get quite overwhelmed sometimes.
I’m vaguely aiming for: 1 getting outside thing - the back garden counts 1 creative thing - be it drawing, poking an RP reply, knitting, converting a thing for sims 1 physio thing - getting 1 exercise done out the long list is better than getting none done 1 ‘useful’ thing
It seems to be working well. As an example, today, despite feeling kind of like I’ve been going to faint most of the day (thanks POTS) I sat in the back garden while husband hung out the laundry, finished the portrait of Vesemir I started yesterday (also the first time I’ve done a 1500 x 1500 rather than a 1000 x 1000 drawing), done 4 of my exercises, sorted my meds tray out for the next week, and as a bonus, have washed my hair.
I’m shattered now, I still feel like I’m going to faint, but I am pleased with myself for doing the things rather than beating myself up over things I haven’t done, and that’s good :)
I am going to reward myself with a fresh raspberry & cranberry juice smoothie, a browse through my eleventy-billion witcher screenshots to decide who to draw next, and in a bit I’m going to watch @creepyscritches stream DMC :)
