words.
Today was therapy day. Usually I dread it, only because it's another thing I "have" to do. But while I long for free time, I frequently fill up my time with stuff to do. Talked to Dr. J. about switching from every week visits to every other week. I want to slow it down a little and take some time to put what I'm learning into practice. Writing really helped me get my thoughts out of my head, the other night. Sometimes the thoughts are swirling around so fast, that I can hardly focus on one thought. So writing it out feels good. The words aren't floating in my brain anymore when I can put them down in writing. Typing seems to be better too. I purposely don't look at the screen when I'm typing so I can't see the mistakes I make while my thoughts are spilling out. A big part of my therapy has been how to learn to put some of my energy towards myself, rather than having my focus on everyone else and their feelings. It's hard, but I'm working on it. I talked about writing today with my therapist. We talked about making it a daily practice, a way to clear out all of the thoughts in my head. I worked out a simple plan to write from 4-4:30 everyday. Preferably outside, but it can be anywhere. I think I may have found my refuge.
