I'm working on a watercolor sketchbook inspired by Frodo’s journey to destroy the One Ring.
Every day, I check how many steps I've taken and log them into the “Walk to Mordor” app. Then, with a bit of extra research—looking into places that might have inspired Tolkien, and real-world landscapes that inspire me—I create these little paintings.
I’ve been working on this project since December 2024, and it’s been a blast! 484 miles so far, and almost a million steps walked.
It’s been a great excuse to leave my comfort zone—both artistically and physically.
Each Painting takes about 3 to 4 hours, in researchig, planing and painting. Its time that gives me peace and heals my inner child. I read this book when I was 16, and I did not paint by then, I only started painting when I was 30, after a burn out crisis. So being able to make this landscapes that for so long lived on my mind alone come to life is very freeing!
This Is what I got so far! I made it to Rivendell!
