Let’s admit it. As dads, we sometimes have to tendency to shield our kids from pain or getting hurt. At times, we baby them too much just because we don’t want them crying for too long. Well, there’s such a thing called overparenting and that’s not good. Kids will grow up to be overly dependent on their parents. Children should experience how it is to feel pain and frustration because that will make them strong. At the same time, they should also learn to appreciate success and happiness because that will make them confident. That’s why I like the concept of collaborative parenting. Simply put, it’s involving our children in our day to day activities at home so that they will feel valued. By doing that, we’re raising kids who are confident and who can adapt to different situations. That’s why I support @ladyschoiceph and @smartparenting in their campaign to encourage Moms & Dads to #DoItTogether with their kids and foster #CollaborativeParenting. In the end, I also urge other Moms & Dads to always find the time to be with our kids, no matter how busy we are. #dadonthemoveph #ivankhristravels #fatherhood #aspiedad #dadblog #dadblogger #dadslife #dadofboys #thedailydad #parenting #involvedfatherhood (at Quezon City, Philippines) https://www.instagram.com/p/CQyEY0hh6Au/?utm_medium=tumblr
