I discovered DokeV a few days ago and felt in love with it! The game looks so great! The animations, the designs, the possibility to skate freely in the streets!

I felt in love with this cute white wolf and couldn't resist making one in polymer clay.

GOBLIN UNDERWEAR

“A goblin’s underwear is strong, and stretchy, and strong”

First of all, you need to check out the original Goblin underwear song. It is a children’s song like “Mary had a little lamb” or “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star”. The video shows a child wetting his bed, then a goblin appears in front of him and sings this song that the Grim Reaper sang. The song is about the goblin’s indestructible underwear made of tiger skin that hasn’t been washed for 2000 years. 

“A goblin’s underwear is dirty! It smells! And it’s dirty!” 

If you were like me and had no idea where the song came from, now you know. It’s just a song for kids so they learn to... wear clean underwear? Who knows lol But the Grim Reaper managed to piss (heh) off Goblin so that’s Goblin: 1 Grim Reaper: 1 for episode 1! HURRAH THE BROMANCE!!

“SEE YOU IN 4 WEEKS”

“Looks like the couple’s spat you had that day didn’t end so well. What, she didn’t want to see you again?” (The original Korean script is “부부싸움의 결말이 그다지 좋지 않았나봐. ‘4주후에 뵙겠습니다’ 뭐, 그런건가?”)

The show called “Lovers Clinic - Love and War / 부부클리닉 - 사랑과 전쟁” (1999 - 2007) has aired on KBS with 400 episodes for 8 years!

The main reason why this show got a lot of spotlight in the 90’s was because it gave voice to a lot of women/wives who couldn’t speak openly about their marriage problems that involved a lot of taboo topics. Cheating, backstabbing, corporate affairs, abuse stories would be reenacted by actors and actresses, then the Consultants would assess the situation, and the final step -- which I believe is what engaged the viewers -- was that the viewers could vote on whether or not the couple should divorce or not.

The sentence that summed up and put a stamp on each episode of the series (and thus made it a national phenomenon) was the closing remark made by the Head Consultant, “We’ll see you in 4 weeks”.

This statement has been adopted in many, many shows in the Korean entertainment industry and each time they do it, they are referencing this one because the situation, grammar structure and vocabulary is exactly the same! 

So even though it was brief, Goblin scriptwriters made reference to a Korean cultural classic, when justice was brought on national TV to all housewives of Korea. So for no related reason at all, have a moping Goblin:

SO REMEMBER KIDS, Goblin’s underwear is smelly, strong, and hasn’t been washed for 2000 years! And if you have any conflicts with your loved one, don’t be hasty, but give it a good 4 weeks -- Korean entertainment standards!
